Sunday morning talking heads

No surprise who the star guest is this fine Sunday morning. Doug Jones will be on “State of the Union” and “Fox News Sunday” to discuss the voter math of Tuesday night’s momentous upset in Alabama, what he thinks of Roy Moore grifting his donors for an “election integrity fund,” and how the hell he’s going to navigate Congress as a Democrat from one of the country’s reddest states. He’ll have to vote with the GOP on some big-ticket items unless he’s already resigned to this being a three-year gig. And let’s face it: Given his party affiliation, it’s probably going to be a three-year gig regardless. He could always follow Richard Shelby’s lead and switch parties, but a man committed to abortion on demand has no place in the GOP.

The other lead guest this morning is Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, who’ll take an early victory lap on behalf of the White House over the all but certain passage of tax reform this coming week. He’ll appear on “Face the Nation” as well as “State of the Union” and “Fox News Sunday.” White House legislative director Marc Short will also sit down with “Meet the Press” to try to sell the bill to wary voters. One surprising omission: Marco Rubio, who won his fight for an expanded child tax credit in the bill and naturally would want to tout that fact on national television, isn’t booked anywhere as of Saturday. Maybe that’ll change.

The full line-up is at the AP.
