A slow-ish news week in politics gives both parties a chance to show off their newly elected freshmen in the House on the Sunday shows. Democrats have dozens to choose from but are pushing a “Year of the Woman” message by showcasing Deb Haaland of New Mexico and Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania. Haaland and Houlahan will be on “This Week,” “Face the Nation,” and “State of the Union” to talk about Trump alienating women voters and the … unpleasantness within their caucus right now. Republicans are opting for Dan Crenshaw, who followed up his celebrated cameo on “SNL” with an op-ed this week about the perils of “outrage culture” in America. He’ll also be on “Face the Nation” and “State of the Union.”
If that doesn’t grab you, Lindsey Graham will sit down with “Meet the Press” to discuss his plans for judicial confirmations over the next two years. With Chuck Grassley term-limited as chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Graham will be running the show now. And he’s already on record as promising to make it painful for Democrats.
Oh, almost forgot: The president, Donald Whatsisname, will chat with Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday” about matters ranging from the Acosta dust-up, the prospect of Russiagate heating up again, and his decision to skip a visit to Arlington on Veterans Day. It takes a lot of political pain to get Trump to admit error. Being accused of snubbing veterans can inflict that amount of pain. The full line-up is at the AP.
