I can’t tell if he’s cutting ties just to Candace Owens, which would be well advised, or hopping off the MAGA Express altogether.
Either way, between this and the Jacob Wohl fiasco, it’s a red-letter day for dodgy young Trump barnacles.
Yesterday came the news that West, who’s friendly with Owens and her Turning Point pal Charlie Kirk, helped design merchandise for her “Blexit” clothing line. (“Blexit” meaning “Black Exit” from the Democratic Party.) “Blexit is a renaissance and I am blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West,” said Owens at an event. But was that true? She clarified later on Twitter: Kanye introduced her to the designer.
#BLEXIT is about the beautiful stories of so many black people who have awakened themselves to the possibilities of our future, as Americans.
The press is trying to use Kanye’s name to create drama and further divisiveness which is WRONG.
Here is statement of clarity from me: pic.twitter.com/PJSdM2PRFi

Weird how a mega-famous celebrity’s alleged role in the Blexit project was exaggerated just as items were about to go on sale. Kanye seems to have found it more than weird:
I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.

My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative !!!

His eyes have been opened, he’s been used to spread messages he doesn’t believe in. Does that refer just to Blexit and Owens or does it mean his entire association with TrumpWorld? Before you answer, note these tweets as well:
I support creating jobs and opportunities for people who need them the most, I support prison reform, I support common-sense gun laws that will make our world safer.
— ye (@kanyewest) October 30, 2018
I support those who risk their lives to serve and protect us and I support holding people who misuse their power accountable.
I believe in love and compassion for people seeking asylum and parents who are fighting to protect their children from violence and war.

I would like to thank my family, loved ones, and community for supporting my ACTUAL beliefs and my vision for a better world.

Gun control and compassion for refugees does … not sound very MAGA-y.
Did Mrs. West, perchance, lay down the law?
Sounds like a spouse-driven “Yexit” from the entire Trump carnival, which would be surprising: I thought Kim K was Trump-friendly, if maybe not as friendly as her better half. Ah well. This made me chuckle:
Truly the most Kanye moment ever:
He donned the MAGA hat, met Trump at the WH, had other rappers insulting him online, and forced John Legend and Chance the Rapper into iPhone press releases
Nothing.
They put his name on some ill-designed sweaters and he disavowed within days

The strange thing about “Blexit” being the final straw for Kanye is that he’s expressed similar sentiments himself. Remember that track he released earlier this year about his political travels and chumminess with Trump? Quote: “See that’s the problem with this damn nation. All blacks gotta be Democrats. Man, we ain’t made it off the plantation.” I don’t know if it’s the message of “Blexit” that’s bothering him so much as Owens’s apparent attempt to monetize her association with him.
Exit question: It’s all set up for Trump vs. Kanye in 2020 now, isn’t it?
