A-listers abound on the Sunday shows this fine weekend morning, and no wonder. Congress’s plate is momentarily full of big-ticket policy items. The White House is sending forth its most knowledgeable salesmen to try to boost support for the House health-care bill among wavering Republicans: Paul Ryan is the lead guest on “Fox News Sunday,” HHS head Tom Price will lead on “This Week” and “State of the Union,” and OMB chief Mick Mulvaney will tackle “Meet the Press” and “Face the Nation.” Mulvaney will also be challenged on Trump’s new budget, with Chuck Todd or John Dickerson sure to ask him some variation of ye olde “Will this budget kill Big Bird?” question. He did a bang-up job defending the Trump plan in his appearance in the White House briefing room a few days ago. He’s the man to watch this morning.

Nancy Pelosi will handle the requisite “this bill is a disaster” Democratic talking points on “Face the Nation,” but conservative critics of the GOP’s ObamaCare replacement are booked this morning as well. Rand Paul will follow Price on “This Week” to make the case that it’s “ObamaCare Lite”; Tom Cotton will follow Price on “Fox News Sunday” to once again beg the House to start over; and Ted Cruz, who’s shied away from the Sunday shows this year, will follow Pelosi on “Face the Nation.” All three will qualify their criticism with blather about how the bill is still under negotiation, yadda yadda, but they’re going to be asked how they’d vote if it came to the floor as is today. Paul will almost certainly say he’ll vote no. Cotton likely will too. What will Cruz, who’s facing reelection next year and eager to stay on Trump’s good side, say?

And if that’s not enough for you, the two ranking members of the House Intelligence Committee will be on today to give a sneak preview of the DOJ’s verdict on Trump’s wiretapping allegations against Obama. Republican Devin Nunes will be on “Fox News Sunday” while Democrat Adam Schiff will appear on “Meet the Press.” Early indications about the DOJ report don’t look good for the White House.
