Two more months — and yet election modelers are in near-universal agreement that California’s going to decide on June 7th whether Trump clinches 1,237 delegates or not. He can’t do it before that unless Cruz falls apart somehow. He very likely can’t do it at the convention if it doesn’t happen on the first ballot. For all intents and purposes, it’s California or bust. Can’t we fast-forward? Bump his total up to, say, 1,100 delegates, give him and Cruz three weeks to campaign, and let Cali vote. That way #NeverTrumpers can know ASAP whether they need to get cracking on a third party or not.
Here’s the livetweet widget for tonight’s primary results from Wisconsin. You know what to do.
