Pelosi: These Republicans are too consumed with "evasions" to worry about the real issue, which is ... jobs

Via Mediaite, I don’t know what to say, guys. Actual quote:

“This president — they make so much of these issues because this president is such a great president,” Pelosi told reporters during her weekly press briefing. “They will use talking points on Benghazi, they will use the IRS, they will use AP, as, I think, subterfuges — evasions — of what the American people want us to do.”

Watch the clip to find out what it is the American people want them to do. After four years of watching the Democratic leadership flit from one non-jobs issue to another, and for the second day in a row, I’m nearly speechless at the display of hubris before me. I did a quick googling of “pivot to jobs” to try to get a handle on how many times Obama and company have meandered down some other policy path while the electorate stubbornly kept insisting in poll after poll after poll that the economy and unemployment were their top issues. I stopped looking after I stumbled across this HuffPo post from 2011 mocking The One with a highlight reel of his many, many, many pivots. Even progressive sites, for years, have cringed at the Democrats’ short attention span on this subject. And now here’s Pelosi, conveniently in the midst of Scandalmania, insisting that it’s time to pivot yet again.

By the way, in case you’ve been a coma for the past five months, Obama’s top policy priorities this year so far have been gun control and immigration.
