We already knew this, but it’s fun to revisit the subject if only to rub the faces of those leftists who thought he should be allowed pay his “respects” at Ground Zero in their own shame. His theory of the crime, as strongly suggested (but never explicitly stated) to 60 Minutes’s Scott Pelley? An inside job by the CIA, of course. “Suspect” indeed:
“Four or five years ago a suspect event took place in New York,” Ahmadinejad said in a speech to a public rally in the holy city of Qom broadcast live on state television.
“A building collapsed and they said that 3,000 people had been killed, whose names were never published.”
“Under this pretext they (the United States) attacked Afghanistan and Iraq and since then a million people have been killed,” he said…
Ahmadinejad did not say who he believed was behind the September 11 attacks. On April 8, he questioned how the two planes piloted by Al-Qaeda militants could have evaded surveillance to crash into the World Trade Centre.
Exit question: Will this/should this affect Obama’s calculations about whether to meet with Ahmadinejad? I ask only because I can’t keep his criteria straight anymore. I’m guessing “no” on the assumption that if Holocaust denial’s not a dealbreaker for him, Trutherism won’t be either. Besides, Bush meets with Arab Holocaust deniers all the time. Good enough for the GOP, good enough for Barry O.
