Needless to say, the fact that he’s running ads like this to reassure his supporters in lieu of policy ads means someone’s worried at Giuliani HQ. Or does it? Has Rudy run any policy ads thus far? I remember he did a health-care spot for radio and his terrorism TV ad got lots of play, although there wasn’t much of any policy in the latter except “the threat is serious.” All his ads seem to come down to big-picture stuff like that. A good idea when you’re dealing with voters whose attention spans are short, but not so good when you forget to explain why you’re the man with the plan to solve them.
