Radio Equalizer
I’m not doing town meetings; I’m not going to give those people a forum. I went through it with the Clinton health care bill, with the John Birch Society, where we had to have police around, and people hysterically crying…
I’m known as just “Louise”, from one end of it to the other, and they know I’m not going to do anything to hurt them, and I’m not going to give these other people, who, when you come down to it, a large number of them are anti-government, they don’t want Medicare or Social Security either; and the notion that they showing up with guns, I think, is totally dangerous.

I think she’s a big proponent of putting abortion in the health care bill, which her last name is apt for that.

Damn right wing gun-toting whackos! They shot Reagan!
Oh, wait.

I think it’s time to update the Milk Carton list.

Maybe she will feel the same way come time for re-election day.

2010 will bring slaughter at the polls.
JammieWearingFool on September 3, 2009 at 3:13 PM
So, the SEIU and UAW goon squads aren’t going to show up?
J.J. Sefton on September 3, 2009 at 3:14 PM
She’s holding out for those harmless busloads of SEIU and ACORN fuzzballs with their issued signs.
Fletch54 on September 3, 2009 at 3:15 PM
to be fair, Birchers are kooks
Doctor Zhivago on September 3, 2009 at 3:15 PM
I aspire to that slaughter!

Next fall is going to be REALLY interesting….
BigWyo on September 3, 2009 at 3:17 PM
They might do something crazy like bite off a finger!
BadgerHawk on September 3, 2009 at 3:18 PM
And to be unfair, this Dem is comparing town hall protesters to Birchers.
BadgerHawk on September 3, 2009 at 3:18 PM
I am waiting for the toes to be next.
upinak on September 3, 2009 at 3:19 PM
If she won’t allow town halls then how will Ogabe supporters get the daily recommended quantity of human fingers?
Darth Executor on September 3, 2009 at 3:19 PM
I’m not going to go listen to constituents. What do they know?
Daggett on September 3, 2009 at 3:20 PM
I don’t understand it either. I don’t see how the town hall people are even close to comparing to the Birchers
Doctor Zhivago on September 3, 2009 at 3:21 PM
Oh yeah, just trust me because I’m one of your brilliant legislators and I know better than you. This woman is a blithering idiot and obviously not very bright. I never cease to be amazed by the fact that these wormy politicians come from the most contaminated gene pools in the country.

There should be a law that the Patricians meet with a council of Plebeians once a year.
Ted Torgerson on September 3, 2009 at 3:24 PM
Gotta be really careful around those clueless lefty astroturfers.
Apparently they think “Bite Me” is an instruction, not a pejorative.
LegendHasIt on September 3, 2009 at 3:24 PM
Christmas.
If we have continued unemployement and economic issues during Christmas, we are going to millions are extremely PO’ed people, a lot of them who don’t normally get into politics.

I think that’s 12. You need more time in the indoctrination camp.
BadgerHawk on September 3, 2009 at 3:25 PM
As a person who used to live in her district years ago, I have to wonder as to whom she is referring to when she says “violent wackos.” Monroe County can be called a lot of things, but a hot bed of violent wackos isn’t one of them.
Now happily living in Oklahoma, I am thankful that Tom Cole represents me instead of that statist in Upstate NY.
itzWicks on September 3, 2009 at 3:25 PM
LOL – it only helps US when they use these tactics!
More please!

She knows what is best for her constituents…? Geez Louise!

Lincoln, a Republican, was assassinated by a Confederate sympathizer.
Kennedy was assassinated by a Communist sympathizer.
Reagan was almost assassinated by a whacko looking to impress Jodie Foster.
What does this have to do with tea party or town hall attendees.
amerpundit on September 3, 2009 at 3:27 PM
Leftists can’t survive on arugula alone.
Fletch54 on September 3, 2009 at 3:27 PM
Seems to me the only ones being hurt at these meetings are conservatives/libertarians. The ones doing the hurting seem to be on her side.
But some people believe her. We had a woman at our town hall who was for Obamacare, and she thought we were all going to stone her when she spoke out. She was surprised to find that we respected her right to speak, assured her she was in no danger and wished her well (after we told her that we disagreed with her — just not violently.)
Christian Conservative on September 3, 2009 at 3:27 PM
I hope the ‘violent wackos’ vote your hinny out of office.

letget on September 3, 2009 at 3:27 PM
And they say that the republicans are the party of no. Slaughter wants NO comments from the opposition. She wants NO ideas from a great deal of her constituents! She really has NO clue!
fbcmusicman on September 3, 2009 at 3:28 PM
If you haven’t seen what her congressional district looks like it is a classic definition of gerrymandering.
pt on September 3, 2009 at 3:29 PM
Yep, go ahead and pass your socialized medicine by any means necessary. I can’t wait to see how that works out for you.
littleguy on September 3, 2009 at 3:29 PM
There is no rhyme or reason here.
They are basically afraid of people like me. Like I could hurt anyone. That’s laughable.
Well, discounting my rabid voter rage.

12. “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.”
Not seein’ it.

Her office is too “dignified” to speak with the common folk.
Fighton03 on September 3, 2009 at 3:30 PM
Kooks? They sound like they had a crystal friggin ball here.
Alden Pyle on September 3, 2009 at 3:33 PM
Ron Reagan is on Air America?
Sweet evil Jesus, what a disgrace. To have the namesake on the failed radio network that freely jokes about killing their political opposition.
MadisonConservative on September 3, 2009 at 3:33 PM
Mine looks worse. It’s as if someone threw pasta on the wall. Pre-2000, my street, the next street over, and the next street over from that one — each were in a different district.
Blake on September 3, 2009 at 3:35 PM
Louise’s Gerrymandered District Map.
She knows that the fix is already in. She doesn’t have to talk to her constituents.
Sadly, I’m one of them.
ITmonkey on September 3, 2009 at 3:36 PM
Really? Dignity? I’ll tell you what’s dignified. Realizing that you lack the mental capacity, the good sense, and the courage to perform your job, and based on that recognition…withdrawing from Congress. Now THAT’s dignity.
Dee2008 on September 3, 2009 at 3:37 PM
Every link I have shows that as 11.
BadgerHawk on September 3, 2009 at 3:40 PM
You live in one of the few cities that has Air America. How did you not know that?

Well, that is what makes him a useful idiot.
tom on September 3, 2009 at 3:51 PM
The left is hysterical. Notice all the flinging around of different phrases? Maybe I’ve missed something, but so far, I have only seen violence from the left, when three SEIU thugs had a man on the ground.
Did someone else get beaten up? But the protesters are “violent”.
Uh huh.
They’re so unaccustomed to resistance to their power-grabbing, socialist ideas, they don’t know what to do except ratchet up the rhetoric against the opposition (which includes Republicans, Independents, AND Democrats).
capitalist piglet on September 3, 2009 at 3:57 PM
Yet she welcomes illegals to the voting booths in the district she represents.

You think I can listen to that tripe for more than 8 seconds without dry heaving?

I take back part of that post. I just read about the moonbat biting off the guy’s finger.
Sheesh.

Mommypundit on September 3, 2009 at 4:06 PM
To be fair, you don’t know what your’e talking about.
Have you ever read any of their literature? Their magazine? Do you know their history?
http://www.thenewamerican.com/
Or are you basing your ignorant assessment of them on the well orchestrated smear campaign (you might be interested to know who first ordered it) falsely accusing them of being violent, anti government racists and antisemites.
I’m not a Bircher but I’ve been familiar with them for many years. I find their writings to be very well researched, non partisan and rationally argued from a Constitutionalist and Americanist perspective.

I hope that she is retired in 2010, by those angry voters. However, I looked at her district map link that someone posted. There really ought to be a law against such gerrymandering.
SC.Charlie on September 3, 2009 at 4:20 PM
I think she means the red-neck apple growers along the lake.
Anyway, although Louise does have a vote in Congress, she is probably the most useless and ineffective Congressman the Dems have. With regard to signature issues of the day, she always takes up some inane left field side issue wrt it and rides it into the ground. Recently she’s been “helping” with a long pushed local mass transit development plan in Rochester by trying it to an anchor called “let’s build a high speed rail leg from Albany to Buffalo” so it can be thrown into the Funding File of Death.
Considering that in her most recent public foray into Obamacare found herself confusing Medicare and Medicaid, not to mention confusing her constituents, it’s not surprising she doesn’t want to dip her toe into it in public again, preferring instead to hold private town hall telephone calls where sounding like an idiot gets her in the newspapers.
Dusty on September 3, 2009 at 4:23 PM
Oh, cool! LOL (It’s my friend’s blog. I just do his graphic design.) I like yours too – that’s you?! What are you, twenty?? (You don’t post like a kid, so I thought you were older than you look, if that’s you.)
capitalist piglet on September 3, 2009 at 5:08 PM
By Christmas a cardboard village will spring up in central park the way things are going. More an more people exhaust their benefits every week and are losing their homes while Bozo and company keep saying how great the economy is doing.
The unemployed do not spend much money. It will suck when we have to choose between heating our house, for the last month we own it, or eating.
The fascists know they are on their way out. They see it clearly, which is why we should be very wary of the various “Pandemic response acts” sprouting up.
