The lefties are damn lucky John McCain is not the vengeful monster they think he is. There would be some full-to-bursting re-education camps in remote locations….
Of course that’s more Osama Obama’s and The Hildebeest’s style, anyway.
My Mom used to subscribe to Atlantic. She was the liberal in the family. That was decades ago. And even then the family used to joke about how liberal, how very liberal was the viewpoint of Atlantic Monthly.
Even so, Sullivan sullies its reputation, and its good will today.
I just don’t get the hate. How can parents raise their children to be like this?

That picture makes him unrecognizable.
He looks like a youthful, thinner Alfred Hitchcock.
I’m so glad that the dems are such an open-minded, tolerant, kumbaya bunch of sweeties.

Many parents do a bang-up job of raising their children.
Then …… academia gets a hold of them.

I am a pretty hard core Democrat. Some of my artwork has been pretty anti-Bush, so maybe it was somewhat irresponsible for them [The Atlantic] to hire me.
I’d say irresponsible of them and not very professional of you for accepting. But what can you expect of a dem.?

It’s war, Connie, and whatever it takes to win it they’ll do.
I say such a thing with hesitation and regret, but after watching politics during the Clinton days and Gore candidacy, I think it’s time to speak up.
Besides, this is not the Dem party of JFK, the Dem party we could call “the Loyal Opposition.” This is the party of Reid, Pelosi, and Obama. This is the party of dirty tricks, ad hominem attacks, and treachery, if not treason. This is the party that puts power first. And God help the rest of us.
I heard the atlantic smells like fish — or was it the Atlantic stinks like an old fish?
I also heard you can put lipstick on a bear, but that doesn’t make it right — or right leaning.
Then again, after decades of listening to rock music, my hearing’s not so good.

True, but it’s more than that. Too many parents aren’t raising their kids at all.

Agree and somewhere here, someone posted the DKos rant about it being worth it to lie to win. And you’re right about JFK. He’s probably turning in his grave at what the party has turned into.

Nov. 4 will be sinister, but not for McCain.

I support McCain and oppose Obama and subscribe to The Atlantic, which I find to be chock full of fine articles. I admit that it does have a lefty touch now and then but not so much that I take a lot of notice. I would not dismiss it as a partisan rag.
For example, it published “Thieves of Baghdad,” which debunks the lefty slander that our military allowed the Iraq Museum to be looted after the invasion. “The Crash of Egypt Air 990” by William Langewiesche is a rather fascinating examination of the bigotry and shame which drives the Arab Muslim world and prevents them from progressing, as opposed to American rationalism. Langewiesche’s series on “American Ground: Unbuilding The World Trade Center” shows how an ad hoc team that formed by itself did a better job of clearing the destroyed WTC than a government appointed commission could. It’s a brilliant argument for American democracy. These are all articles that every conservative should read.
I suspect that the reason why The Atlantic hired a raving loony lefty photographer to take their McCain shots is because most photographers are lefty loonies. Jill Greenberg has her studio in Beverly Hills. How many conservatives live there, do you think? How many photographers in Manhattan do you think would be Republicans? I’m thinking none.
I doubt that the editors of a national magazine saw anything unusual in working with a lefty loony or even recognized her as such. They probably thought she was mainstream like all the rest of their lefty crowd in the Big Liberal Bubble World they live in. Sure she gets the New York Times every day and subscribes to Mother Jones and has a Che T-shirt in her drawer. Doesn’t everyone?
If anything, my guess is that describing herself as a “hard core Democrat” is soft-pedalling her extremist views.
Putin would kill to have someone like her working for him.

I think that’s exactly the attitude to take on stuff like this. Voter manipulation-Democrat style is essentially Soviet at its philosophical base.
The funny part for me is that I like the picture; I like the image that I am getting from his posture. His skin tone? His red eyes? Unnoticeable and irrelevant.
He looks like he means business, and that’s why we elect Presidents. This stupid liberal isn’t “sophisticated enough” to know what her own work is portraying. What a maroon.

Plus, the wife of The Atlantic’s owner is a huge donor to Obama.
Also, Pete Wehner has more on the Sullivan Derangement Watch.

To be fair I think McCain should’ve smiled. I didn’t see much other problems with that pic other than that. He looked oily or something.

That’s exactly what I thought, too!
So, here’s our “candidate” recommending a cure for the sleepless nights faced by liberals horrified at the prospect of a McCain/Palin victory.
He’s really, really scary! Isn’t he?
