I am not a fan of watching uncomfortable interviews and videos of people being hurt by their own awkwardness, because it's human to feel some empathy when someone else's ship slips sideways.
I do make exceptions sometimes, and today is one of them.
This buffoonish clown running for governor of California, who should, quite frankly, already be doing time in a federal penitentiary, is one such case.
Xavier Beccera, never known as one of the brightest bulbs in Joe Biden's dim bulb-i-verse, was being interviewed by a San Francisco comedy correspondent (like, seriously?) (they'd send a Spanish Inquisitioner to Steve Hilton), and it went off the rails. Not because she was a badgering type, but because Beccera sat there like a cactus when he wasn't screwing up the little he did say.
The NY Post called it 'excruciating.'
Xavier Becerra’s excruciating interview sees him stumble over basic questions, gets name wrong in painful watch
California’s likely future governor Xavier Becerra continued his streak of awkward moments with the press — stumbling over a fundraising question and botching the name of a Dem ally in an excruciating interview with a San Francisco news outlet.
The Democratic frontrunner, who has a considerable lead over his Republican rival Steve Hilton, was pressed by the San Francisco Standard’s comedy correspondent Sophia Garrow on some key details of his campaign.
In the new interview, Garrow asked Becerra if there are any companies he wouldn’t accept money from — alluding to criticism that the former HHS secretary took huge checks from Big Oil and other special interests during the gubernatorial primary campaign.
Naturally, I had to go find it, and holy SMOKES.
The cringe is off the charts.
It sucks that this guy is the best our state could do.

And the best part is watching Democratic supporters moan about it.
Not that it matters, and these low-IQ types deserve what they get. For example, the state machine is still rigging the game for this inarticulate poltroon. The trial for Beccera's ex-chief of staff has been conveniently moved back until after the elections. The new date of December 10 gets this well out of the election news cycle nicely.
Beccera lost all those children, he needs to be in prison, or did he find them ALL?He's another Failed Democrat in office in California, the debate is going to show you how brain dead Beccera is, get your popcorn 🍿 ready, Vote Red to Save California and Your Families

Jaundiced eyes are rolling.
I’m shocked…. shocked I tell you… that they postponed this trial until after the election. If this was a Republican staffer on trial, it would have been expedited in the name of “Democracy (TM)”.

The knock on Hilton being a 'foreigner' is also taking some hits when up against the Hispanic activist that Beccera has been his entire life.
This guy looks like a fool.
Tough choice in California. Beccera is a separatist. pic.twitter.com/zMCTjycatR

And Beccera's strategy of ducking press events is starting to look familiar, too. Newspapers in the state have been asking the candidate for interviews and have gotten either the stiff arm or radio silence, whereas the affable Hilton will talk to just about anyone.
Becerra declined an interview with the Southern California News Group editorial board. The combined circulation of SCNG papers places it in the top 5 statewide.

Sad to see that CA's next Governor is unwilling to engage with a group of opinion writers who politely disagree with…
Comparisons are already being made to other Democratic luminaries - Kamala and Joe Biden - who employed the same sort of campaign duck-and-cover hideout, and this little foray into the sunlight for the inarticulate Beccera might explain why he's done so.
But it won't help him much, as tonight is the debate with Hilton, and if Beccera is that slow on his feet, perhaps he should have practiced in public more and ducked for cover less.
I lowkey would consider voting for Hilton if I lived in Cali. I only say this because he’s trying to win where Beccera is doing jack squat.

I hate entitlement or the feeling that victory is assured no matter what, even if it’s true.
Hilton will eat him alive and look lively doing it.
It's just mind-blowing to me that this race is as far apart as it is, with something like 25 points separating them. Hilton should be swamping this dolt as badly as California needs an adult at the helm, and instead?
He's singing Climb Ev'ry Mountain and busting his butt 24/7, working to shave points off at a time.
Beccera simply smiles with that vacant sort of look about him, and reads zero energy...when you can find him.
And he's going to stroll into the winners' circle like he earned it.
