I'm not going to fake anyone out who doesn't know me by starting off a post with, 'Oh, you just know I hate to talk bad about someone...'
Like, that's my job, and I relish it, especially when the targets are self-identifying and juicy as all get-out. Not to mention, you all would either be rolling in the comments or calling me out, all up in my grill, right?
RIGHT
But, holy smokes, sometimes there are such despicable, weak-willed characters who have achieved high office and then occupied the position for years as if they were the heirs to a medieval lord's birthright. Still, it gives one a moment's pause at the breathtaking perfidy these are capable of when they are booted from it, or leave in anticipation of losing it had they run for reelection.
Losers anyway you look at it, coming or going.
Two prime examples of this most patrician level of supercilious 'Republican' mountebank are U.S. Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Thom Tillis (R-NC). Cornyn's been in the Senate since 2002, and while he's Texas-born and raised, he has that annoying East Coast exclusive boarding school delivery and carriage many of the worst offenders in the Senate have. He'd be as perfectly at home on Beacon Hill as his campaign page has him on the range.
And he votes like that, too. Like a Romney Republican, which is pretty much why he got his butt handed to him during the recent GOP primary run-off with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in a 63-36 percent blowout.
Thom Tillis, the formerly deep red, now kinda purplish North Carolina's version of a Mid-Atlantic RINOsaur, took one look at his fading chances for reelection and bowed out before he had to take a thumping.
Tillis proudly characterized it as being freed from the chains that bound him, although I think most Republicans in NC would say he was finally flying his true blue colors.
He went all in on boosting his like-minded Mittens buddy before his primary disaster.
Thom Tillis says it's great not having to use the “extra filter” now that he’s not running for re-election.

He then goes after Paxton, and defends Cornyn.

So these two weak Bobbsey twins have now joined together in a sore-loser, TDS-fueled revenge tour, and they could give a flying rat's patootie about the business of the country if it interferes with their chance to poke a finger in Donald Trump's eye.
They went into their tag-team act today over something as insignificant as confirming the Attorney General of the United States.
Yeah, who needs the guy? Let him stew in Trump's angry juices.
From the two men who both happily voted to confirm arch-criminal-conduct-enabler Merrick Garland, comes Obstruction 101 in the guise of 'we're concerned about that defunct fund.' Ergo, they are, purely by right of their pristine consciences, blocking Todd Blanche's confirmation.
Suck on that egg, Orange Man.
Sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Thom Tillis, R-N.C., have a lot in common. Both are soon to be unemployed, and both have a serial hatred for the people who elected them to public office.
That disdain has never been more apparent than it has throughout Todd Blanche’s Senate confirmation process to become America’s next attorney general. While originally set to be voted on by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday morning, a representative for Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, announced late Wednesday that a vote on Blanche’s nomination has been postponed for the foreseeable future due to Cornyn and Tillis’ continued stonewalling.
As Grassley’s team indicated, the GOP senators are withholding their support due to alleged concerns about a now-defunct $1.776 billion “anti-weaponization” fund for victims of Democrat lawfare. Tillis has also fearmongered about Blanche weaponizing the Justice Department and even compared the Biden DOJ’s weaponization to the Trump administration’s efforts to achieve accountability for that abuse.
Watch as Cornyn puts on his concerned face to explain. He's trying so hard to help the administration get this passed, he said, but the administration 'refuses our help.'
🚨 JUST NOW: Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) is being accused of REPEATEDLY moving the goalposts as to why he is obstructing Donald Trump's Attorney General Todd Blanche's confirmation through committee

Senators like Mike Lee are ALL-IN on Blanche.

Oh, I'd just love it if we could work the language out...as Tillis snickers internally.

No one in Washington fell off a cabbage truck yesterday, and no one knows how to play these two posturing fools better than Donald Trump, who said, 'I'll pull Blanche's nomination until after you're gone.'
I CAN WAIT
NEW: President Donald Trump says that he has "no objection to temporarily withdrawing" Todd Blanche's name for attorney general and then putting him back after Cornyn and Tillis leave office. pic.twitter.com/E863OvsBtK

What's happened in the interim this afternoon is that someone must have whispered in the two pissy sisters' ears that it would behoove them to make nice, as they have reportedly just 'wrapped up' a meeting with Acting AG Blanche, Yes, yes - the same Blanche they canceled three meetings with this week, and then complained no one would meet with them to address these pressing concerns.
It's just a little game RINOsaurs play.
NEWS: Acting AG Blanche, John Cornyn, and Thom Tillis just wrapped their meeting, per source familiar, and they are "all working collaboratively now."

...Cornyn and his staff canceled three meetings with Blanche over the course of this week, I'm told, so the senators' objections could theoretically have been addressed days ago.
Did Trump's easy-going workaround call their bluff?
Who knows.
But what we do know is that these two are out of their cushy jobs come January, and that is no loss to anyone.
