Janet Mills Out of ME Senate Race and She Did Nazi It Coming

Wowsahs. This is big news out of Maine on a number of fronts.

Governor Janet Mills, one of the wokest, most vile AWFLs in office, who was going to turn her term-limited governorship into a United States Senate seat, has dropped out of the Democratic primary race.

She's run out of money and has the WAAHs.

This is quite a crawldown for a once-inexplicably popular, snarling tyrant who has been wrapped in a perpetual slimy cocoon of corruption allegations stitched up with her own insufferable arrogance.

Remember this doozy from a year ago, over men in girls' locker rooms and sports?

SEE YOU IN COURT

She's just ghastly.

But somehow Chuck Schumer thought this wicked old witch was the perfect person to challenge the Republican senator from Maine, Susan Collins, and so he sweet-talked the term-limited governor into throwing her rumpled hat into the ring.

Maine Gov. Janet Mills joined her state’s crowded Democratic Senate primary as the establishment favorite on Tuesday, aiming to flip Republican Sen. Susan Collins’ seat in a pivotal midterm year.

Democrats view the seat as one of their top pickup opportunities — the only in a state Kamala Harris won in 2024 — and Mills is among a few top-tier candidates Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer aggressively recruited to run this cycle. But first the term-limited governor must contend with a competitive primary against breakout candidate Graham Platner, an oyster farmer who announced he has more than $3 million in the bank and already received the endorsement of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

Maine Beer Company owner Dan Kleban is also running for the nomination and his fundraising figures will be made public Wednesday, when federal filings are released.

In her launch video, Mills highlighted her recent fight with President Donald Trump over transgender sports and accused Collins of enabling him. “I won’t sit idly by while Maine people suffer and politicians like Susan Collins bend the knee as if this were normal,” Mills said.

Right, Janet - because men LARPing as women is what's 'normal' and should be defended.

Warped. Just warped.

Democrats bet the farm on Mills right off the bat.

...Mills, 78, was the only Democrat to win a statewide race in Maine in the past two decades. She entered the contest in October with the full backing of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, a joint fundraising committee with national party leadership, and endorsements that read like a roster of the Democratic establishment.

Yeah.

How'd that work out for them - everything riding on the hag up against, as The Maine Wire calls him, 'The Boy With the Nazi Tattoo.'

Heh.

...Platner had been leading Mills in every public poll of the race, by margins that grew rather than narrowed after the governor’s mid-March advertising blitz attacked his old Reddit posts and the Nazi tattoo that Platner has lied about multiple times.

By April, internal Democratic polling reviewed by national outlets put Platner ahead by as many as 38 points. Mills’ campaign stopped booking television advertising after April 8, according to data from the ad-tracking firm AdImpact, and never resumed.

For Schumer, the result is a public defeat in a primary he engineered. The Senate Democratic leader personally lobbied Mills to enter the race, and his campaign apparatus’ close coordination with her bid prompted accusations of favoritism that Platner used to rally a small-dollar donor base and a volunteer operation his campaign says now numbers more than 15,000 active members.

Chuck Schumer has been his own worst enemy for about four years now.

Mills and Platner were scheduled for five debates, but she never even made it to the first one. She had no money left.

RUNNIN' ON EMPTY

Gov. Janet Mills of Maine, the Democratic establishment’s choice to run for the Senate seat long held by Senator Susan Collins, a Republican, suspended her campaign on Thursday, saying she no longer had the financial resources to compete against Graham Platner, a progressive political newcomer.

Her exit paves the way for Mr. Platner, an oysterman who has led her in polls, to become the Democratic nominee in one of the most important Senate races in the country.

“While I have the drive and passion, commitment and experience, and above all else — the fight — to continue on, I very simply do not have the one thing that political campaigns unfortunately require today: the financial resources,” Ms. Mills said in a statement.

There is quite a bit of speculation on X and elsewhere that this outcome might not have been the case in earlier years, when ActBlue, the Democratic National Committee, and its unscrutinized, anonymous NGO partners were in full-on money-laundering flower. They conceivably would have found a way to get donations to a struggling designated Dem, but alas - those days of being flush with cash are kaput with the stern eyes of Justice now upon them.

They are also dealing with a weakened, feeble Democratic Party heirarchy who can no longer dictate the candidate shots with the same imperial powers they once had - like when they dethroned Bernie Sanders for Hillary, for instance.

The days of picking and choosing the favorite are waning, thanks to progressives who no longer play by the rules, and the Boy With the Nazi Tattoo is a perfect example. The insurgents are loud, rude, and ever more aggressive, and have no compunction going for the jugular if they believe a party elder is hindering them.

So this now effectively sets up Susan Collins, an old school New England Republican (however irritating that is to the rest of us, it is the BEST we will ever get out of there), against a classic life-story con-artist Democrat with the au courant, vile, uber-radical progressive views.

Hamas supporter? CHECK!

Communist? CHECK!

Promoter of Israel committing genocide? CHECK!

Who sports a Nazi Totenkopf tattoo on his chest.

On and on. His vile, now deleted Reddit comments were lit but he claims they were a result of PTSD.

For the swooning Left, it's like, 'What's not to love?'

The National Republican Senate Committee is already at work dismantling Platner's fictional 'regular guy' biography. It's pretty much on a par with Sandy from the Bronx levels of working-class fantasy.

...While Platner's Mamdani-Fetterman campaign team has portrayed him as a working class, working man, Platner's oyster business is more of a hobby than a vocation and his primary income is disability -- plus familial wealth accrued by his lawyer father and famous architect grandaddy.

There might be places where that kind of pedigree is common, but in Hancock County that makes you a one-percenter.

The 'Mamdani-Fetterman' team Robinson mentions handling Platners PR is well-versed in creating candidates (and I do mean 'creating'), and has been very successful in doing so.

It would behoove the NRSC, Collins' own team, and everyone else not to take the buffoonish and offensive Platner lightly.

They need to constantly repeat everything the cretin says and have the quotes ready when challenged. This is a good start.

Like many Democrats, Platner has difficulty with truthfulness about his military service.

So peculiar, and I do not understand why they try. A DD-214 is going to bust you every single time.

...Foreign Service (2 Iraq Deployments)

1 year, 2 months and 12 days.

Sea Service (MEU)

5 months and 9 days.

Total overseas service:

1 year, 7 months and 21 days.

Now I guess the question is did you serve the rest of the 8 years 5 months and change overseas, during your 3 year Army National Guard contract?

I will say it is nice to see you actually were a Sergeant and you earned a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and others.

Sure, as Cillizza says, there's lots of oppo on this revolting lunatic.

But there are too many people who find his type appealing right now.

The ones Republicans must reach and convince to win are the people who aren't yet asking where the 'Luigi Mangiones are' to help them with their health insurance.

Sadly, they are going to have to work their butts off to find them.
