A Trucking Drama in Three Parts Played Out on a Missouri Highway Today

This is really something, and what, as a platform, X is really stellar at.

In Act 1, we meet a driver in his Tesla Cyber truck, toodling northbound on MO's Highway 61. He says this all happened about five miles north of Troy. As you will see in the video, it's a four-lane divided highway.

Thank goodness he was paying attention because in his northbound lane was a southbound semi truck also just runnin' down the road.

YOICKS

Our driver swerved to avoid a head-on and then took the next crossover to get into the southbound lanes, so he could catch up with and track the big rig still running the wrong way on the highway.

And thanks goodness for the Tesla's assisted driving features, because he was able to get great video proving what the semi was doing, and God forbid there had been a wreck because of it.

Miraculously, no one was hit. How, I don't know.

What he did do as he filmed was manage to get some exceptionally clear shots that folks loaded into the comments on his original thread after tracking down the info on them.

And go figure.

A vehicle owned by a two-year-old Minnesota 'trucking' company run out of an apartment in Hopkins.

The company is owned by Mr. Abdiwali Ahmed. I'll just leave that right there.

The truckdriver had his four-ways on and his ear to a phone the whole time he was bookin' down the wrong highway.

In Act 2, as the wrong-way semi pulled into a crossover, ignoring our driver who'd exited his truck to get better pictures, and then rolled out in the correct direction of the highway, our hero went in search of an MO state trooper while sticking to the errant semi like glue.

Thankfully, he found one pretty expeditiously. After showing him the video, the trooper went in search of the big rig and pulled him over.

Act 3 finds our villain desperately scrambling through his cab, still on the phone to someone and gesticulating wildly, as he...what? Looks for the rig's paperwork?

We never do find out that part, dang it.

I can't really drop the curtain on the story yet, as I'm unsure whether the trooper let him go, which seems utterly unbelievable if he did, or if there was some sort of action that the fellow who did all this impressive legwork missed.

What has been so instructive has been the comments on his different videos.

Now, a caution of course. Don't take videos if you cannot do it safely. That goes without saying. Don't be a danger to others while trying to prevent a problem.

But if a situation arises where you can safely glean the information that would help authorities when they arrive, this seemed to be really solid advice for cutting through the numbers gibberish on any given semi or commercial truck and focusing on what to concentrate on.

Trailer number and plate are useless and the truck plate is hidden by the trailer.

Get the info from the SIDE of the truck where the driver is and get the truck # (usually 1234 or similar) that is in front or top or back of the rig.

The company name and DOT and MC numbers are what you want to ID the company.

The truck # will ID that driver.

All companies have software to track them and it is very unlikely they have 2 or more drivers in same 10 mile stretch of road. Who that is, is nearly 100% certain to find out in 2 minutes from the company tracking dashboard.

That 911 call? Make it, but don't expect anyone to be in the immediate vicinity as if you were calling from your neighborhood, waiting for local law enforcement.

That's why all the other information is so pertinent.

These videos have all been reported to Secretary Duffy, the Department of Transportation, and the relevant agencies within the Department.

Believe me, a truck on the wrong side of the highway is on Sec Duffy's radar.

I'd be very surprised if there wasn't someone knocking on an apartment door in Hopkins, MN, sometime in the near future.

Well done to @BtcLabe for being on the ball, hunting this guy down, getting help, and documenting every last, scary minute of it.

DoT can use all the help they can get and so can the driving public.
