If one really pays attention, I would have to say we have several all running in sequence in Minneapolis, which makes it an even bigger weird coincidence in itself.
Which I'd bet good money means that, from the beginning, none of this has been a coincidence at all.

The very first thing to take note of is how all these people appeared on Minnesota streets - specifically - with the same printed signs and shrieking the same anti-ICE, pro-illegal immigrant language. It's awfully peculiar considering that illegal alien deportations had been humming along unabated and virtually unnoticed for years, right up to the point when there was a spike and a 180° reversal of tone and rhetoric.
Fortunately, there are people who chart these things, which helps pinpoint the exact moment the tenor shifts.

The intention behind the unrest is NOT empathy.
Empathy is being manufactured on false grounds to achieve political aims. And people are getting hurt.

As outraged and sympathetic as this April Racket article is to the NGO cause - $71B is 'minuscule' compared to the US budget, so why take money from these poor people - their reporting gives you an idea of the depth and scale of the NGO-MN-Somali diaspora ties.

And, coincidentally, fraud investigations blew the doors off in the next few months, revealing just how much government money those Somali diaspora experts were handling. First, it was a burgeoning feed-the-children scheme.
The fraud scandal that rattled Minnesota was staggering in its scale and brazenness.
Federal prosecutors charged dozens of people with felonies, accusing them of stealing hundreds of millions of dollars from a government program meant to keep children fed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
At first, many in the state saw the case as a one-off abuse during a health emergency. But as new schemes targeting the state’s generous safety net programs came to light, state and federal officials began to grapple with a jarring reality.

The Minneapolis airport, with reports of suitcases full of millions in cash headed offshore, raised eyebrows. People looking for who had averted their eyes and allowed all of the corruption to go unchecked for what was beginning to look like a pipeline tens of millions of tax dollars from an 86% welfare-dependent Somali population in MN to Somalia.

If deportations themselves were the moral trigger, you would expect protests to rise during periods of highest deportation volume historically. They did not.
You would expect outrage in 2024.
There was none.
Instead, protests erupt only when political language changes.
When “resistance” rhetoric appears.
When media framing shifts from “routine enforcement” to “crisis.”
That tells you the driver is narrative, not numbers.

The protests cluster tightly in time.
Same weeks.

Same demands.
