Well, I just guess that POTATUS' State Department was a little nest of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive vipers from top to bottom.
I mean, that's what I'm hearing and reading here, and holy SMOKES - no wonder we were such a wreck on the world stage, slightly spongey mushroom as a figurehead president aside.
DEI permeated every orifice of the Biden administration, and with their worst fears about to be realized - a Trump presidency after the flameout of the almost $2B loser...sorry, I meant 'woman' - POTATUS' handlers and the bumblers running his various departments scrambled like madmen to fill the vacancies they had with carefully selected candidates who ticked all the right woke boxes. These last-minute bulk fill-ins were meant to be a bulwark against the incoming, no-nonsense Trumpers, as one assumed government workers could not be let go.
These explicitly DEI hires were going to become stealth resistance agents already in situ before the first Trump cabinet secretary took office.
The federal government is currently in the process of hiring as many as 1,200 employees to work on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) — employees who would be embedded into the permanent federal workforce headed into the Trump administration, according to a Daily Wire analysis of federal job opportunities.
The jobs have annual salaries of up to $310,000, and could add up to total salary payouts of $160 million a year. Thirty-three DEI jobs were posted in the 10 days immediately following the election of Donald Trump, and the hiring window closes before he takes office.
The bureaucracy is scrambling to fill even high-level jobs, just underneath the ranks of “political appointees,” before the Trump administration takes over. On November 15, for example, the Department of Health and Human Services advertised for a Deputy Assistant Secretary for Minority Health, to “promote health equity” at a salary of up to $221,900.
The candidate will “exercise[] leadership to ensure that all programs under their direction reflect the principles of workforce diversity.” The application window for the position closed on November 29, and the Biden HHS is currently reviewing applications before the Trump HHS. If hired, the agency’s likely head, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., will be saddled with the senior executive, who “serves as the principal advisor to the Secretary … on minority health issues.”
Being a State Department DEI supahstah was certainly a cushcush deal, too, as Nikki Haley found out when Trump noses started poking around before they got keys to offices.
20% of State Dept employee bonuses are based on DEI metrics. The effects of the Biden/Harris administration are real and can’t be over soon enough. pic.twitter.com/4HMtCrSKF0

As she said, 'Christmas bonus? Who gets a Christmas bonus working for the government?'
I guess you did at State during the Biden years.
SCHWEET
And DEI was certainly big at State, as in big, big, glossy book BIG.

But if someone was getting bonuses for being DEI-lightful, you'd have to wonder if someone else wasn't getting coal in their stocking and, lo and behold, it turns out there were.
Lots of them.
Catherine Herridge talked to a State Department employee who said that, during the Biden regime, any positive Trump words were met with censure and any exposure of waste, fraud, and abuse meant banishment from your office desk to being the passport delivery boy.
“The worst thing you can do at the State Department is praise President Trump and expose fraud, waste, and abuse,” whistleblower Mark Lenzi said.

“You're going to be retaliated against for doing that.”

HARSH CROWD
It turns out that wasn't the only thing that would get one put in the penalty box with the woke overlords at Winken Blinken's Department of Weep and Whine.
If you were the sort of individual who did your job and didn't necessarily buy into the latest craze that all the cool woke progressive kids were into at the office, your enthusiasm was duly noted by the DEI hall monitor, and your name went in the black books.
Forget about your promotions because you were judged against your peers on your level of DEI engagement, not your competence or initiative in regards to your work.
To Secretary of State Marco Rubio's great credit, not only has he, initially in concert with the DOGE detectives, driven out the scoundrels at USAID and the other quasi-agencies operating under State auspices, but he also ordered a review of over seven thousand State employees who competed for promotion in 2024.
What they found was par for the Biden DEI course but maddeningly unfair and discriminatory.
Most importantly, Rubio is going to make it right.
Hundreds of State Department employees will receive restitution after an internal review under Secretary Marco Rubio found they were denied promotions during the Biden administration for not meeting new diversity, equity and inclusion standards.
In addition to removing the diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) precept from the State Department’s promotion process, officials said roughly 295 employees who were marked down for not showing they would "seek diversity in staff" will now receive pay increases, administrative promotions and letters of commendation.
...The department conducted an internal review of 7,319 employees who competed for promotion in 2024. Those employees were judged on five precepts: communication, leadership, management, knowledge and DEIA. Under President Donald Trump, the DEIA precept was replaced with a new criterion: "fidelity," Fox News Digital previously reported.
When I read crap like this, I just want to throttle someone.
...Promotion board members were instructed to low-rank employees who exhibited a "lack of sensitivity to the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA)," according to a State Department official.
The DEIA promotion precept was damaging to those who displayed "little indication of seeking diversity in staff," the official claimed.
"The Biden administration imposed ideological litmus tests on civil servants, penalizing competent and deserving government employees in the process," principal deputy spokesperson Tommy Pigott said.
'Robbed' is the correct verb.
The previous administration's extreme DEI agenda imposed ideological litmus tests on government workers and robbed nearly 300 Foreign Service Officers of promotion opportunities.

...Now the State Department is rewarding merit and providing restitution to those unjustly impacted.
The money no longer being spent on DEIA is money well saved, while the flotsam and jetsam DEIA disproportionately and artificially elevated will no longer be an issue. Promoting people who have earned it, however overdue those promotions may be, will only serve to reinforce Rubio's good reputation as a straight shooter within the department and to the folks whose opinion really matters - those who are working for and in the best interests of the country, vice advancing and protecting the progressive agenda.

The DEIA at State is DEAD.
Good riddance, and I hope the stake through its heart holds fast for a long, long time.
