Germany Working Both Sides of the Mouth Immigration 'Fixes'

The immigration situation in Germany is like watching a train wreck, and it's not a slow-motion one, either.

What it is for sure is a danse macabre of competing government factions and ideologies, none of whom seem to have the least bit of concern for the safety and security or expressed wishes of the German electorate.

The cohorts that have ruled the country for decades, and then in cahoots with the world order advocates of the European Union, are determined to sink the country under the weight of an invasion they have no interest in fighting off. It's one they've encouraged and invited.

German industry, such as is left, is pushing for more immigration into the beleaguered country. They are claiming there's a shortage of workers, both skilled and low-skilled, which cannot be filled by available native Germans.

The answer is to bring in more foreign types?

Worked out well so far, so why not?

Germany is not only facing a shortage of skilled workers but also a growing demand for low-skilled labor, prompting calls from major industries and trade associations to expand and streamline immigration pathways.

According to Welt, businesses such as the Deutsche Post, Deutsche Bahn, and the hospitality sector are advocating for simplified procedures to hire foreign labor, particularly for basic operational roles.

“Only through an open and pragmatic immigration policy can we successfully overcome the challenges of the labor market in the future,” said Thomas Ogilvie, Chief Human Resources Officer at Deutsche Post, in comments to Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung. He stressed that the shortage is not confined to specialists but extends to workers for fundamental activities across sectors.

But what about 'our country,' wail those nationalistic sorts. That's a pretty legitimate question, as, for all that businesses complain there aren't workers available in the local workforce, there certainly do seem to be a plethora of available German bodies to hire. Tens of thousands of available German workers, and surely some of them are trainable.

...Over the past decade, restaurants, parcel delivery firms, and transport providers have become key employers of refugees. Yet, this comes amid striking statistics: Nearly 40,000 students leave German schools each year without qualifications, and some 2.9 million people between the ages of 20 and 34 in Germany lack a vocational certificate or university degree.

Failing to utilize their domestic labor pool, European leaders have largely favored immigration to fill the gaps, opting for economic expediency over deeper reforms in education, job training, or structural labor incentives. Germany is no exception.

One stark example of demographic change comes from Berlin. Official figures show that the number of Indian nationals in the city skyrocketed from 3,579 in 2014 to 41,472 in 2024 — an increase of over 1,000 percent. Across Germany, Indian nationals now number 274,910, ranking fifth among source countries for net immigration behind Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan, and Turkey. While many work in IT or healthcare, a growing number are entering through study or family reunification channels. In 2024, the number of Indian students surged by 40 percent compared to recent yearly averages.

Another factor in the burgeoning immigrant population and increasingly devastating drains on public resources for Germans has been a state-sponsored program with the local government in Berlin. The federal government has only recently thought to end it. It was kind of a friends and family 'Get Into the City Free' card.

Who in the wide world of sports came up with this brilliant scheme for adding to the general misery? Should facilitating family reunification for Syrians, Afghans, and Iraqis really be a priority for already stressed German cities?

Berlin’s special state-level migration program that allowed Syrians, Afghans, and Iraqis to privately sponsor relatives has come to an abrupt end following a federal order by Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt.

In a letter to Berlin’s Finance Senator Stefan Evers, reported by Bild, Dobrindt made clear that the federal interior ministry “will not grant consent for new or for the extension of existing state reception programs.”

...More than 4,000 people arrived in Berlin under the program. While the SPD approved an extension at its state party conference and both the Greens and the Left pushed for its continuation, the federal position is now decisive. A separate program for Lebanese nationals, active since 2001, was also halted last year due to security concerns.

The broader debate around family reunification has intensified across Germany. In December, the number of family reunification visas issued since 2015 surpassed 1 million. The AfD called for a full halt, with party member Martin Hess arguing that many new arrivals “will probably immigrate directly into our social systems.”

This is particularly irksome as new citizenship laws allow for an immigrant to apply for naturalization after only three years. Berlin, again, has been leading the way in the new German citizen parade. Many cynical observers note that these new citizens might also be a voting bloc which has been cultivated and harvested by the ruling class, but bought and paid for by losing Germany itself.

...Germany’s new laws allow immigrants to apply for citizenship after just three years of residence under certain conditions. In 2024, a record 249,901 foreigners became German citizens — more than the population of cities like Chemnitz. Notably, these figures exclude three states: Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Schleswig-Holstein, and thus will be far greater in reality. Syrians and Turks led the nationalities gaining citizenship.

Berlin alone, under its CDU-led administration, is targeting 40,000 new naturalizations in 2025, raising concerns about the adequacy of language standards, potential legal loopholes, and the lack of thorough political screening.

Wanna be German? It's a snap.

Once you've achieved that naturalized status, you fall off the rolls as a foreigner, and that tidies up what the actual cost of the influx has been. Or, as the AfD member said above, facilitates the migration 'into their social systems.'

...This is supported by the data. Nearly half of Germany’s €17.68 billion in housing support for 2024 was paid out to foreigners, new government figures published last month revealed.

Last year, spending on German welfare, also known as “citizens’ money,” reached a record high of €46.7 billion, a massive 10 percent increase versus 2023, according to figures provided by the Federal Employment Agency.

As Remix News previously wrote, overall, 62.6 percent of all welfare recipients are migrants, and within the 15 to 25 age group, this number goes up to 71.3 percent.

Quiet, you cranky, damn-near-extinct 'German.'

As a 'citizen,' you have a right to demand things that foreigners do not. These new 'citizens' are quick studies in the demand department.

Calls grow for nationwide Islamic religious education in German schools

Germany’s Association for Education and Training (VBE) has called for the introduction of comprehensive Islamic religious education in schools across the country, arguing that Muslim students should be offered the same opportunities as their Christian peers.

“We are committed to ensuring that all believers can talk about their faith within schools and receive relevant information about their religion and other religions,” said VBE Federal Chairman Gerhard Brand in comments to the RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND).

He urged political leaders to ensure that schools are equipped with the necessary personnel and materials, and that programs are implemented quickly and expanded over time.

The current German government, wallowing in ineffectual misery and perpetually scrambling for cover with the execrable Fredrich Merz as chancellor, makes the occasional good show of getting tough on the crisis and its criminals with one hand, even as the other surreptitiously opens a back door.

They are also feverishly trying to neuter and outlaw their populist, hardline, anti-immigration adversaries prior to the next election cycle. Or national uprising, whichever comes first.

It's a do-or-die scenario for the once comfortable but now panicked parties who have brought Germany to this state. The center cannot hold when the expedient political machinations they effortlessly work from either side no longer find willing dupes.
