GAWD, isn't that little Cabbage Patch looking Communist mayor of Los Angeles something else?
When last we saw Mayor Karen Bass, she had hot-footed it down to one of the city's former crown jewels, MacArthur Park, when word came of an immigration enforcement operation in progress there. The woman needs as many positive soundbites for campaign ads as she can get, so she grabbed the first uniformed federale she saw and demanded to 'speak to someone' so cameras could capture her girl boss moment.
The fellow she did speak to on the phone wasn't impressed, and said as much afterwards.
CBP Sector Chief Greg Bovino to Mayor Karen Bass:

"I don't work for Karen Bass. The federal government doesn't work for Karen Bass ... She'd better get used to us now because this is gonna be normal very soon."
Hero. pic.twitter.com/NG3euxUQUs
Besides the few seconds on camera speaking to a FoxLA reporter scurrying to get out of the park as fast as she'd gotten in (more protesters were arriving, so time to leave), Bass held a news conference afterward emphasizing how the federal officers and the military did nothing but scare the families and poor children at summer camp who use the park.
Asserting that that particular park - METHarthur Park, as it's been cleverly dubbed and gosh, wonder why - is only ever full of families and children bucolically enjoying a pastoral morning, full of healthy sunshine, and strolling, had residents who know better ROTFLTAO.

They also remembered three short months ago when the mayor took time out from her busy schedule, ignoring Palisades fire victims, to complain about the crime in *checks notes* MacArthur Park, which was making it too dangerous for anyone to use and trying to calm down nearby homeowners, who have been going berserk.
WE HEAR YOU AND ARE TAKING ACTION - THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN BE SOLVED OVERNIGHT
Like a miracle, I suppose the park is suddenly so clean, it's now flooded with children.
If you believe that, you'll buy THIS watch! *holds up empty wrist*
At the same news conference, my sharp-eyed colleague, Jennifer Van Laar, noticed masked women flanking the mayor - masks are bad, right? Along with an imposing lump of a fellow wearing a CHIRLA ballcap.
Sent to me by @blackviolas ... Karen Bass, flanked by a dude with a CHIRLA hat on, decries federal immigration enforcement at MethArthur Park.

And masked ladies behind her. I thought masks were bad now? pic.twitter.com/b4Eg7cRXcD
Why is that important?
Well, CHIRLA stands for Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles, and guess who is currently under investigation for funding the recent riots that precipitated Trump calling in the troops?
Yeah. THOSE guys. Yet here is the mayor of Los Angeles with a representative of one of the suspected operations behind funding the illegal alien rioting standing right behind her?
HELLO?
..."We have the IRS here that's helping us track how these violent protesters are funded," she said. "What NGO is out there? What unions? What other individuals may be funding these violent perpetrators?"
She appeared to echo the allegations that the advocacy groups and unions were perpetuating unrest in downtown. Most of the protests have been peaceful, but looters have hit dozens of businesses in the past week. Also, several blocks have been tagged with profanity, leading the mayor to order a curfew for downtown L.A., which has tamped down on clashes between protesters and law enforcement.
Senator Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) threatened a criminal investigation into two local advocacy groups, including the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles, or CHIRLA.
"Credible reporting now suggests that your organization has provided logistical support and financial resources to individuals engaged in these disruptive actions," he said. "Let me be clear: bankrolling civil unrest is not protected speech. It is aiding and abetting criminal conduct."
Immigration advocates from CHIRLA pushed back against the comments from Hawley and Noem, saying they have done nothing illegal and they will not be silenced or stopped.
CHIRLA reps were all, like, 'Hey! We're not a gang! We're a club!'
..."I would say they're saying the most vicious lies of who we are and what we do," executive director Angelica Salas said.
The US Border Patrol busted four chirpy CHIRLA types at METHarthur Park while they were busy planting homemade spike stripes behind CBP vehicles' tires. They were even using a CHIRLA bag to carry the sabotage weapons around in.
Such nice, stable people.

Would you like to know how scurvy AntiFa looking types can afford such nice branded bags to carry their homegrown terrorist tools around?
Simple. Mayor Bass has ensured...
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) this week announced that Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass secured federal support for the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), Clínica Romero, and the Central American Resource Center to assist immigrant families who recently arrived in Los Angeles in need of supportive services.
...that they've gotten lots of your tax dollars.
...According to financial records obtained by DataRepublican, CHIRLA received nearly $34 million in government grants, mostly from the state of California, in the fiscal year ending June 2023, a jump from the $12 million it received the previous year.
The radical group also received around $450,000 in grants for “citizenship education and training” between October 2021 and September 2024 from the DHS — the very agency the group was protesting earlier this month.
However, under the Trump administration, the federal agency cut ties with the group and terminated any further funding in March, including clawing back nearly $101,000 that had yet to be paid out.
Officials estimated the cost of the riots to LA taxpayers will exceed $30 million.
Mayor Bass has them onstage with her. They're her well-paid resistance shock troops, I guess, and they're all besties in the fight to protect LA's illegal population from the consequences of their crimes and federal law enforcement.
Because laws are only for those who need them at the time. Completely pick and choosable.
Sort of like being the mayor of a major AMERICAN city, full of AMERICAN citizens, supported by the tax dollars of AMERICANS across the length and breadth of the country, and yet?
Cozying up to another country whose citizens illegally occupy and consume large swaths of AMERICAN resources and inflict damage and pain on AMERICAN families through their crimes.
This nasty communist seems to be confused about which country Los Angeles is in https://t.co/uOJTB0nroa

'Protecting all Angelenos' should burn her mouth and fingers especially as the Mexican national, the diplomat she's sucking up to is running interference for his illegal compatriots against the duly authorized law enforcement of his host country—the country whose laws Mayor Karen Bass is supposed to obey.

Tom Homan and DHS ought to be looking to boot out this co-conspirator, too, and Trump should be telling the Mexican president to send an ambassador who can respect United States law.
Bass might have gone to MacArthur Park, carefully coached on what to say so she didn't wind up with her hands behind her back. She knows she's on the radar. It's a question of how far she's willing to push it.
So far, DHS has maintained that Bass would have to interfere or actively order direct intervention, and I assume they're referring to an incident like the one involving Newark Mayor Ras Baraka at that ICE facility.
...But during an interview with Fox News Monday night, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, said that arresting Bass was, “on the table,” if she attempted to intervene in immigration raids.
But these visuals alone should have the administration focusing on her and her anti-ICE collaborators. She's not hiding the progressive and radical groups working with and encouraged by the mayor's office, and making sure they're included in every photo op. They don't seem to mind being out front and center at these events, either, as if they were daring the administration to move on them.
The way it's looking, it's going to be an awfully crowded paddy wagon when Homan and the gang truly start snatching ringleaders up.
