Everyone is well aware that when a Johnson thinks they're right, they're gonna let you know in no uncertain terms.
There's currently no Johnson like Brandon Johnson, especially in charge of a major American city.
And when hizzoner is right? By-God-wait-a-dang-minute, he's right.
All you have to do to find out is question where he - or, by extension, his administration - went wrong.
"Fell short" even.
WOOF
Mayor Johnson doesn't take kindly to interrogations and insinuations like that.
Mayor Brandon Johnson ended Chicago's contract with ShotSpotter after activists complained that the gunshot-detection technology is racist.

City Council just voted to REINSTATE it, including many loyal Democrats.
Johnson is not happy about it: pic.twitter.com/Fazp6aZqxH
What brought all this unpleasantness about?
Well, you might remember earlier this year when Mayor Johnson declared he was canceling the city's contract with a company known as ShotSpotter. Their technology - microphones alerting police to the location of possible gunfire - was racist, according to the mayor.
...ShotSpotter is a system of acoustic microphones mounted on poles (accompanied in some confirmed high crime areas by cameras) that alert police to the location of suspected gunfire. It does have its problems, also being susceptible to identifying explosive car backfires and the like as weapon discharges, but overall, the police are happy to have the assistance (They are quite adamant about that.)
Supposedly, according to community activists and progressive mouthpieces, the black community in Chicago is not nearly as enthusiastic, for all the carnage on the streets there. They feel it brings more police to their neighborhoods and the potential for more police shootings and harassment of residents.
In other words, the mics picking up probable gunfire from these neighborhoods, causing a police response, is racist in itself.
Police naturally were apoplectic at the city making life more difficult for them yet again by removing one more helpful tool. On the other hand, the progressives and neighborhood activists who inhabit the ranks who had helped lift former union toadie Johnson into the lofty seat he now occupies were thrilled to be able to foil the cops and law enforcement in general.
Until reality hit, and they all realized that they might need it with the Democratic National Convention coming to town. Perhaps they'd hang onto the reviled mics until after the convention and Johnson quickly called for a do-over.
After the Sun-Times reported on the decision earlier in the day, Johnson’s office issued a statement saying the city “will decommission the use of ShotSpotter technology on September 22,” meaning cops will have access to the system throughout the historically violent summer months and the Democratic National Convention.
HISTORICALLY VIOLENT SUMMER MONTHS
Well, there's a "Visit Chicago" jingo if I ever heard one.
ShotSpotter initially told Johnson and the city to blow the extension out their collective kazoos, but eventually relented.
Johnson figured he'd be able to boot the company as planned come September, predicated on the city still standing after the summer.
Welp.
Yesterday, in a pretty stunning and united rebuke, the Chicago City Council foiled those plans. If ShotSpotter was so necessary for DNC delegates' safety, they reasoned, why can't Chicago citizens keep it?
The council voted overwhelmingly to block Johnson's move and keep the company.
See how your alderperson voted below. Mayor Lori Lightfoot never saw a rebuke like this from the City Council, even at the lowest point of her popularity. Note: Council needs 34 votes to override a mayoral veto. pic.twitter.com/iabMAKelIl

So much so that they have the requisite votes to override a mayoral veto should Johnson really get his back up and do so.
But no one can get an answer out of the fragile city chief executive about what his plans are. He's employing lessons learned in the Kamala Harris School of Communication.
AKA word salad.

Reporters asked Johnson four times if he plans to veto the measure. He refused to answer.
Here’s what he said instead ⬇️
First he said the measure does nothing.

...Here’s what he said instead
First he said the measure does nothing.
Then he said no one knows what it does.
Then he said his responsibility is to educate people about what it does.
Holy crap, this guy is such a mushroom.
...The assault on small business is a national problem, but let’s just concentrate on Chicago, a market I’m most familiar with. Nightlife in the center of the city is disappearing. Our landmark hotels are suffering, and some have closed or reduced services to an alarming degree. Chicago’s mayor and states attorney have not been interested in arresting roaming mobs of looting anarchists who terrorize the downtown area. The mayor makes excuses for their behavior. Armed robbery, carjacking, and assault have become commonplace in broad daylight.
Brandon Johnson is proposing that the city open and operate grocery stores and pharmacies in the inner city. Instead of addressing the root causes of why CVS and Whole Foods have closed their inner city businesses, he thinks it’s ok for the taxpayers to pay for all the massive theft.
Losers in life never accept personal responsibility. The theft is not a result of an impoverished senior stealing a can of tuna. It’s a mindset promulgated by leaders like Johnson. This idea is so blatantly Marxist from a guy who wasn’t paying his own utility bills before his election. If you own a small business and you don’t pay your electric bill, your power gets disconnected. You are out of business. “Brandon Mart” would just keep stocking the shelves and send us the bill. It’s ironic that Johnson is not the least hesitant to float such a radical idea. He makes most constituents nostalgic for Lori Lightfoot by comparison.
Every neighborhood has been decimated by massive theft and crime. Johnson cuddles and excuses the looters and car jackers and continues to defund the police. He ignores his primary sworn responsibility which is to protect the citizens, and businesses.
Johnson wouldn't know his primary duty if it smacked him in the face, and his anxiety attacks would have him cowering in a bathroom with the door locked if someone called to ask him. I'm half tempted to lay money on a bet that Johnson is nowhere to be found when the city explodes this summer, ShotSpotter or no.
But it isn't just Johnson - that billionaire porker they have for a governor's been destroying the state, too. This latest Illinois change should certainly help law enforcement handle the customary summer Chicago frolics, less mind the visiting DNC Hamasholes, et al., huh?
Satire is now reality:

Illinois just passed a bill to change the word "offender" to "justice-impacted individual"
HB 4409 passed both chambers.

HISTORICALLY VIOLENT SUMMER MONTHS
Interestingly enough, the one thing Brandon Johnson does know is who butters his bread. This may be why he was even more tongue-tied than he normally is, having been brutally exposed for the sleight of hand he was going to try with the money he'd have had the ShotSpotter contract been canceled.
Turns out none of it was coming back to the city. Oh, no.
Progressive aldermen were going to use it to grease all those BS faux-front, grift-encrusted "community groups."
I wish I got these numbers in front of her and other supporters, too. I urge everyone to just learn the basics on how little this technology costs, relatively ($8m per year) and how you get 3 times more arrests compared to overall budget. pic.twitter.com/vblGvU80GX

ERMAGERD
Can't have real numbers proving ShotSpotter really works to save real Chicago citizens' lives when progs already can taste the cash from canceling the program!
That ruse was confirmed in a very AOC-ish sort of brain fart by a progressive alderwoman during her time at the podium.
A ward rep who is herself a criminal, so, who's to argue? The girl knows what she's talking about.
Your friendly reminder that Ald. Fuentes' views on policing should always be given zero credence considering she's a criminal.@Ward26Chicago https://t.co/MKg0JokPOC pic.twitter.com/jUNFLcyItf

Progressives - they have a rule book and a lingo, and they stick to it.
If people haven't learned to see through the "community" or the "infrastructure" language papering over plain old theft, they deserve what they get.
And they have never, ever been in it for "the community."
This Chicago summer's gonna be lit af.
