Our isolated bases in the Syrian desert and oil fields at al-Omar and al-Tanf seem to be having a bad time of it tonight if current reports are true, and the commander in chief’s sudden interruption of a press briefing is any indication.

This is not good.
Simultaneous attacks are taking place against three US military bases in northwestern Syria
The image apparently shows a massive explosion at the base located in the Al-Omar oilfield

And those first guesses are looking like they were correct – the local Islamic Resistance is claiming credit for the drone strikes. This was the group in the area that had gotten the all-clear from Iran.
These together make 6 Drone and Rocket Attacks now on U.S. Forces in Iraq and Syria within the last 24 Hours; while the number of Attacks in the last Week easily equal over 20.

Central Command just issued a “we bagged them” tweet.
🚨 JUST IN: US Forces Destroy Attack Drones in Syria

As our son Ebola just sent, and we agree heartily, the threat should be clearly delivered, not implied.
“We need to just say the next attack on a US base by an Iranian backed militia will result in the Iranian regime being greased.”
But it will never happen under this administration.
The White House on Monday said Iran was in some cases “actively facilitating” rocket and drone attacks by Iranian-backed proxy groups on U.S. military bases in Iraq and Syria, and The White House on Monday said Iran was in some cases “actively facilitating” rocket and drone attacks by Iranian-backed proxy groups on U.S. military bases in Iraq and Syria, and President Biden has directed the Department of Defense to brace for more and respond appropriately.
There’s a confidence builder. YGTBFKM
…White House spokesman John Kirby said there had been an uptick in such attacks over the last week, and especially over the last few days, but the U.S. would not allow its interests in the region to “go unchallenged.”
He said the United States believed these groups were supported by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) and the Iranian government, which was also continuing to support the Hamas and Hezbollah militant groups.
“Brace for more” – gosh POTUS. Nothing like having their back.
And “respond appropriately” is, like, whut? Telling them “don’t” four times in a row instead of three? Or “don’t” but in capitals.
Whatever.
…”We are deeply concerned about the potential for any significant escalation of these attacks in the days ahead,” Kirby said.

In the meantime, trying to keep track of breaking news can be a bear, both visually and with reports as they come in. There are some good folks working hard on X to make sure what you see is really what happened. For instance, just like the dead babies from Israeli bombs on Gaza turned out to be poor little victims of 2013 Syrian gas attacks, it turns out that, while the initial reports of these attacks on our bases were true, the accompanying fiery explosion pictures were borrowed from earlier big badda booms.

It always pays to wade through lots of information, as well as give things some time to shake out.
Prayers up to all our forces on land, sea, and in the air.
You all are awesome and always in our hearts.
Stay frosty.
