Rather than sit glued to the feeds – the entire thing is too ghastly for words…
BREAKING: Donald Trump pleads "not guilty" in classified documents case.
"Mr. Trump sat stone faced… wearing a blue suit and a red tie," reports @KenDilanianNBC. https://t.co/MPjgQRmzjX pic.twitter.com/y9Q7LpCTwC

…I thought I’d wander through various media outlets to see how the Praetorian Ghouls are handling the day and overreacting. Remind us of how we got here, and why we have to keep fighting.
This was the first unhinged bit of op-ed I ran across. Good gravy goodness.
It's time for America to drop the "death by prosecutor" fantasy, writes @ZeeshanAleem. https://t.co/iytzBrJZeg

Overheated rhetoric much? “I can’t control him, Captain! Only WE can SAVE OURSELVES FROM THE TRUMPIAN MONSTER!!!”
…Banking on convictions to eliminate the threat posed by Trump is shortsighted. There are virtually no convictions that can bar Trump from winning office or acting as president, and he has a variety of tools available to either avoid being sentenced before taking office or pardoning himself upon taking office. A Trump victory remains plausible, and attention and energy should remain laser focused on mobilizing and making the electoral case against an authoritarian threat. Nobody is coming to save us — only we can protect ourselves.
No matter where this poor fellow looks, all he sees is Voldemort’s Trump’s face in the bathroom drain.
In the opposite direction it seems ABC’s David Muir isn’t making any points with rabid anti-Trump viewers for doing “reporting.” That’s kind of refreshing. I’ve got to admit, it is an out-of-left-field kind of comment for that network.
David Muir just said that the indictment ‘if you buy into it’ was easy to read. Really. What kind of comment was that! MSM ‘if you buy into it’. This entire situation mocks the court. https://t.co/CesUXPlR34

Did you all see Kevin McCarthy giving that earnest young CNN reporter a lesson in double standards yesterday? McCarthy was very soft spoken, and excruciatingly polite as he basically eviscerated her.
CNN REPORTER: This is a different case, this is a different set of circumstances, right? I mean the former president is accused of misleading law enforcement, a conspiracy of obstructing justice, that’s a different set of facts. Are you prepared to defend him as the former president, and what other actions will the House take? Like the House Judiciary Committee, in terms of funding.
SPEAKER KEVIN MCCARTHY: Are you prepared to defend your network, CNN… You can’t put words in my mouth, even though your network can hire Andrew McCabe, who was fired from the FBI for leaking classified documents. Did you remove him from your network? No, you continued to put him on to give judgment against President Trump. You also hired Clapper. Clapper has cone out publicly-
…My concern as a policymaker is when you weaponize government, and now you’re weaponizing networks, that is wrong. We will take all our power to make sure that the legal system in America gets the blinders back on, and people are treated fairly. I have a real problem that your network actually pays people who give classified information and then lie to the American public to try to influence a presidential election, and then you put them on your network to give an opinion about a president… what your network has done has weaponized the same time.
I mean, I sure hope the sweet young thing paid attention, and is feeling just a bit sheepish, if not outright embarrassed now.
Because this is what her network is doing – and with WHOM – as Trump is arrested and arraigned TODAY.
How can anyone take seriously CNN's claim that it exists to combat disinformation when it constantly hires known, proven liars?
Because the core function of the US corporate media is to lie to advance establishment institutions of power.
It's a requirement for the job.

I don’t know that they’d be so quick to lie if they weren’t sure there wasn’t a CNN payin’ gig waiting for them. Who cares if you’re a fired liar, if you’re a CNN hire? You’re a big media star now – beats shuffling papers behind a desk for some blow-hard politican you despise when you know you’re smarter than any of them.
Besides, nobody ever gets in trouble for this stuff! They reinstate your pensions and everything. WIN-WIN.
Where an “I don’t know” gets a peasant’s life upended in major fashion.
Special counsel Smith indicted Trump aide Walt Nauta for an allegedly false statement of “I don’t know”. John Brennan and James Clapper both lied under oath to Congress. Andrew McCabe lied three times to federal investigators. James Comey 245 times under oath claimed ”I don’t…

CBS, while lower key in their coverage (although you know O’Donnell had her inner gloat on), couldn’t handle the truth had convenient audio issues.
CBS news claims to have "audio issues" and cuts away when their Trump lies were called out by a Congresswoman. https://t.co/4Lx1dNbSxG

Signaling that things would be icing up even further as far frosty DoJ and Republican relationships go, Senator J.D. Vance announced today he’s not playing anymore.
Until Merrick Garland stops using his agency to harass Joe Biden’s political opponents, I will hold all DoJ nominees. pic.twitter.com/UVRwi6Ue01

I betcha there’s plenty more to come from House and Senate Republicans.
Lord, I hope so.
