SoCal street vendors seek relief from blood-and-urine-spattering Occupy protesters

Occupy protesters in San Diego apparently have no better manners than their Washington D.C. counterparts, who this weekend injured an elderly woman by pushing her down a flight of stairs.

When two street vendors in the California city stopped freely dispensing coffee and hot dogs to Occupy protesters, which (reminder!) the vendors didn’t have to do in the first place, the Occupiers retaliated by vandalizing their carts.

“Both carts have had items stolen, have had their covers vandalized with markings and graffiti, as well as one of the carts had urine and blood splattered on it,” said Councilman Carl DeMaio.

The damages will likely require at least a complete cleaning if not a replacement of the cart covers, DeMaio said.

In addition to the attacks, the vendors also said they recently received death threats.

From the beginning, it’s been evident that the Occupiers want what they want when they want it … and think they should have it just because they want it. Many have admitted as much. But even when a couple of generous vendors comply with the kids’ entitlement attitude, they’re still unsatisfied. The second the handouts stop, the temper tantrums kick in.

Fortunately, other San Diego residents have a better understanding of and appreciation for the two street vendors. CBS reports that neighbors in the Gas Light district plan to host a fundraiser to help them refresh their businesses.
