Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro is really pushing to become a member of President Donald Trump’s administration. The role she allegedly has eyes on? Attorney General. Via POLITICO:
A former prosecutor and judge, Pirro has repeatedly told Trump’s aides and advisers over the past 18 months that she’s interested in taking over as the nation’s top law enforcement official, according to four people familiar with the conversations.
Trump has dangled the possibility of giving her a top appointment. During a November meeting in the Oval Office, the president raised the possibility of nominating Pirro to a federal judgeship, according to a former administration official, though this person added that Trump was more likely engaging in flattery than seriously considering putting Pirro on the bench.
Pirro’s Fox News colleagues have laughed at her frequent mentions of the possibility of getting senior-level government work, according to one Fox employee. Two White House aides said they believe the president is not seriously considering bringing Pirro on to replace current Attorney General Jeff Sessions, despite Trump’s long-standing frustration with him.
I can only imagine the news conference if/when Trump announces Pirro as the replacement for current AG Jeff Sessions. It’d be fire and brimstone and entertainment for all of Trump’s MAGA fans and those who enjoy watching a potential train wreck (potential train wreck, it’s possibly Pirro would be pretty low-key). It would be curious to see how she’d meld with the push within the White House to enact justice reform. She was certainly in favor of the pardon of Dinesh D’Souza and appears cool with pardoning Rod Blagojevich, but also wrote a book called To Punish and Protect: A DA’s Fight Against a System That Coddles Criminals in 2003. Those beliefs might not jive with Trump’s willingness to enact justice reform, but they also might not be a problem since she’s considered a Trump loyalist.
The problem with Pirro as a Trump loyalist is she might not be willing to buck him should he go too far on one policy or the other. Pirro was pretty adamant in April she wanted the Republican Party to really, really get behind Trump.
It’s time for the Republicans to start wielding power. They’ve got to learn to stop their namby-pamby spineless finger to the wind approach to running the country. It’s time for Republicans to stop fighting with each other and start supporting the president. How can you Republicans possibly let the DOJ, the Attorney General, and the FBI stonewall you? Put on your big boy pants and use the Department of Justice and the FBI to investigate and prosecute those who violated our laws.
And while you are at it, stop apologizing for our Second Amendment because this ain’t going to end well unless and until Republicans get the guts to wield the power to run our government the way it’s supposed to be run.
That’s…going to be a problem if the GOP is supposed to just fall in line with whatever the President wants, especially if it goes against the tenets of conservatism (if that’s what the Republican Party stands for anymore). Loyalty is a very important trait to me, personally, but I always want people to be honest. A measure of a true friend is someone who explains why they do not agree with what I’m doing and why. It may cause strife for a few minutes, days, or even weeks but their input is still always appreciated. The only problem with blind loyalty is the inability to speak up when someone strays, especially in this imperfect world. It’s something to consider.
Of course, Pirro might not end up being AG but aiming for a higher job.
Pirro interviewed to be the DAG. Sessions resisted. When he resisted, Trump advisors told him if he didn't give her a hearing, Trump might end up giving her SCOTUS https://t.co/wI8My3hMiY

Wouldn’t that be fun, especially if Ruth Bader Ginsburg is still on the bench. The Supreme Court Building might become a version of Taiwan’s parliament with Neil Gorsuch and Elena Kagan trying to break up a fight between Pirro and The Notorious RGB while Samuel Alito and Stephen Breyer get into a shoving match (this is a joke, people, chillax).
What are the odds Pirro would make it through the Senate, should she get the nomination? NRO contributor Dr. Pradheep J. Shanker isn’t convinced she’d make it.
LOL.
She also probably has no chance of being confirmed, considering her voluminous commentary on Fox that has all sorts of damaging nuggets. https://t.co/iAkvLKXtJo

We’ll just have to see if Pirro’s continued charm session works or if he’d prefer to have her Saturdays on Fox News being one of his biggest fans this side of Sean Hannity.
