"Anti"-Fa: Turning Over A New Leaf At The FBI?

meme

"Anti"-Fa (officially "Antifa"), the direct action arm of America's left wing, with intellectual and ideological roots going back to the Weimar-era German Communist Party's version of the "Brownshirts", has had a pretty good time of it for the past decade or so.

But the new leadership at the FBI may be changing that, oh-so-slowly.

Over Memorial Day weekend, "Anti"-Fa groups were involved in a violent scuffle with a Christian demonstration in Seattle:

Violence returned to Seattle this weekend, and that has police fuming about the city's "naïve or deliberate" decision that made it inevitable.

Seattle police reported at least 23 arrests on Saturday at Cal Anderson Park during MayDayUSA’s "Don’t Mess With Our Kids" rally — and the pro-LGBTQ counter-protest. According to the Seattle Times, "Roughly 500 people attended the prayer rally" and "about as many turned out in protest."

Now, Cal Anderson park is in the heart of a very LGBT-heavy neighborhood in Seattle - which you might think would seem to be a risky place to hold a rally against LGBT propaganda in school.

You might think that.

And you'd be right.  The park was not the group's first choice:

According to MayDayUSA's Folake Kellogg, a Wenatchee-based pastor, the group applied to hold their event at Victor Steinbrueck Park, but the city denied that permit. Instead, Seattle Parks and Recreation required MayDayUSA to hold their rally at Cal Anderson in "the heart of ANTIFA land," as SPOG put it.

Why, it's almost as if someone at the City of Seattle wanted to see a scuffle break out.

And break out, it did:

Seattle police arrested at least eight people protesting a faith-based group event outside City Hall Tuesday.

Traffic in downtown was significantly impacted due to the event. Fourth Avenue was closed from Columbia Street to South Washington Street. James Street was closed between Third and Fifth avenues. Cherry Street was closed from Third to Fourth Avenues.

To their credit, the much-outnumbered Seattle police tried to intervene.

The Mayor, Bruce Harrell, was not amused:

Seattle is proud of our reputation as a welcoming, inclusive city for LGBTQ+ communities, and we stand with our trans neighbors when they face bigotry and injustice. Today’s far-right rally was held here for this very reason – to provoke a reaction by promoting beliefs that are inherently opposed to our city’s values, in the heart of Seattle’s most prominent LGBTQ+ neighborhood.

When the humanity of trans people and those who have been historically marginalized is questioned, we triumph by demonstrating our values through our words and peaceful protest – we lose our voice when this is disrupted by violence, chaos, and confusion.

Now, if you live in a blue city, you know how this has worked over the past 15 years or so; "Anti"-Fa goons get arrested, ludiciously low bail gets set, prosecutors trip over themselves to get the goons back out on the street, and poof, the incident goes away.  Like in this 2017 episode in Minnesota involving the arrest of six "Anti"-Fa goons who attacked a Republican gathering in the rotunda of the Minnesota state capitol; one of them was Woody Kane, the son of Hillary Clinton's running mate, Senator Tim Kane. The local county attorney whispered "slap" at the attackers wrists, and all but took them out to dinner to make up for the trouble.

But there's a new sheriff in town - or, more accurately, a new regime at the FBI. And they, in turn, are also not amused:

People are lining up to help:

I'll wait to see the results.  But I'll keep my fingers crossed. It is high time the Feds started punishing, rather than aiding and abetting, Big Left's campaign of intimidation against Americans and our free speech rights.
