Video: Baby born at 23 weeks goes home with family after almost a year

A beautiful video from North Dakota that serves as an antidote to the third gruesome installment in the Planned Parenthood undercover series, but also a reminder of what’s actually at stake.

Meet Trevor Frolek, born at 1lb., 6 oz. and going home with his family this week.

“Especially from the night we did not think he would make it, to now, is just, so, pretty special,” said Bo Frolek, Trevor’s Dad

“It was hour by hour, minute by minute, hour by hour,” said Becky Frolek.

There were several touch and go hours.

“The doctor told us it was going to be a rollercoaster ride. We were going to have our good days and we’re going to have our bad days,” said Bo.

He was so fragile. So small. Bo was able to get his wedding ring around Trevor’s foot.

There were surgeries for his heart, for his eyes. Friday was day 345, and it was the last day. He was at home in Lidgerwood as of Friday night.

Trevor’s mom says she’s “excited,” and “I just hope I have what it takes.” Prayers for her, the little guy, and the whole family.

Did Trevor’s physical location at 23 weeks magically change him from a clump of cells (with paradoxically lucrative human organs for brokering) into a human being, or was he always one?
