Members of Hillary Clinton’s State Department security detail requested transfers or left the agency outright rather than endure the task of protecting the Secretary of State, according to FBI investigation notes released Monday.
The New York Post has details on the animosity:
“[Redacted] explained that Slinton’s treatment of DS agents on her protective detail was so contemptuous that many of them sought reassignment or employment elsewhere,” the FBI documents state.
“Prior to Clinton’s tenure, being an agent on the Secretary of State’s protective detail was seen as an honor and privilege reserved for senior agents. However, by the end of Clinton’s tenure, it was staffed largely with new agents because it was difficult to find senior agents willing to work for her,” the interview summary states.
There’s more. According to Fox News, Clinton put her staff at risk during a trip to Jakarta so she could enjoy a “photo op” for her anticipated campaign for President.
Then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was “contemptuous” toward security agents and even put officials traveling with her in “unnecessary danger” by pursuing a photo op for her “election campaign” in a risky area of Jakarta during a 2009 visit, according to a security agent interviewed by the FBI.
…
The official, who was tasked with protecting Clinton, claimed agents had the perception she was using her position to campaign for president and were unhappy about her alleged disregard for security protocol.
The recent release of FBI notes related to the investigation of Clinton’s use of an unauthorized email server for government business have been a treasure trove of embarrassing and unethical nuggets pertaining to the Clinton campaign and State Department.
But, these revelations pertaining to Clinton’s treatment of her security detail feed into a larger narrative of Clinton as an angry elitist prone to viewing career military and law enforcement officials as her personal servants obliged to cater to her demands and endure her disdain.
The New York Post also discovered a disturbing item that hearkens back to when the Clintons raided the White House of furnishings when they left in 2001.
“Early in Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state, she and her staff were observed removing lamps and furniture from the State Department which were transported to her residence in Washington, DC,” an agent on the detail told the FBI.
The agent “does not know whether these items were ever returned to the government,” according to FBI notes.
The agent was assigned to Clinton in 2009, at the start of her term, but was not on the detail when Clinton left in 2013.
If this is how Hillary Clinton behaved as Secretary of State, imagine what kind of President she will make.
