Report: 9/11 moment of silence re-scheduled to accommodate Obama

According to an exclusive report in the Daily Caller, the traditional moment of silence signifying he precise time American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 was moved forward several minutes because President Obama wanted to move things along:

A Department of Defense official confirmed that the moment of silence was moved up a few minutes and that Obama was the one who made the decision, saying the president “moved early.”

The moment of silence was originally slotted to take place at 9:37 AM — the time at which the Pentagon was attacked on September 11 — but ended up taking place a few minutes early.

The moment of silence has traditionally been synced to the exact moment the jumbo jet made impact at the Pentagon. It raises the emotional impact and the powerful significance of the moment. To re-schedule the moment to accommodate a churlish president’s personal needs is selfish, offensive and narcissistic.

But, the narcissism continued. Obama’s remarks, though at times appropriate and deferential to the occasion, included a passage which was pulled out and highlighted as the major take-away by USA Today. “Obama praises diversity at Pentagon 9/11 tribute” reads their headline.  That’s right: “Diversity”

“We know that our diversity, our patchwork heritage is not a weakness, it still and always will be one of our greatest strengths,” Obama said.

Obama, making his final remarks on the anniversary of 9/11 as president, received a warm welcome from the audience on a warm, breezy morning. As he stepped on to the dais, one woman  shouted, “We love you!”

He responded, “Love you back.”

Because our “diversity” is the big lesson from 9/11. Because the terrorists hate us because of our “diversity.” Because…  you get the picture.

But, “diversity” is an important (if not the most important) issue for the Obama presidency and has become a political buzzword in the 2016 presidential campaign to demonize Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorbales” voting for Donald Trump. The specter of 9/11 and recent policy proposals to protect the American people from another attack carried out by radical Islamic terrorists have been attacked under the guise that “extreme vetting” rejects America’s “diversity” ideals.

So to sum up the president’s commemoration of the 9/11 attacks: He altered the significant time of the moment of silence because he wanted to move things along. He injected a narcissistic “Love you back” to a shouting admirer before his remarks. And he took a partisan swipe and the Republican nominee for president in an effort to demonize anyone who would want to re-examine our immigration and migrant policies for people coming from countries which breed radical Islamic terrorists.

All in all, a successful day for the most divisive president of our times.
