Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) slammed the Obama Administration and Attorney General Loretta Lynch for the plan to remove any reference to radical Islam as motivating factors behind the terror attacks in Orlando last week.
Appearing on Fox News, Scott said Obama is “not focusing on the evil” that we are facing with ISIS and radical Islamic terrorism:
“It seems like this is another example of not focusing on the evil here. It’s evil. It’s ISIS. It’s radical Islam. At some point we are going to get a president that is going to say ‘I care about destroying ISIS.’ I want a focus on how do we get rid of ISIS. How do we stop this? How do we stop radical Islam? This is wrong. It’s hurting our country. This is an attack on our gay community, our Hispanic community but our entire nation.”
When asked about Attorney General Loretta Lynch saying that releasing the entire transcript of the stand-off between Orlando police and terrorist Omar Mateen so “to avoid re-victimizing those people that went through this horror,” Scott responded:
“I have no idea what she means. But I can tell you what: I have gone to funerals, I’ve sat down and cried with the parents. I’ve gone and visited individuals in the hospitals. They are grieving. Now, they want answers. If it was my family I would want answers. We all would like answers. She should release everything that doesn’t impact the investigation. I can understand if it impacted the investigation until this is finished, I get that. But she is not saying that. It doesn’t make any sense to me. We have to get serious about destroying ISIS.”
Politico reports that Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) has also chimed in with strong criticism against the administration. However, instead of using his fine communication skills by delivering the criticism on television, the Speaker chose to issue a written statement:
“Selectively editing this transcript is preposterous,” House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said in a statement. “We know the shooter was a radical Islamist extremist inspired by ISIS. We also know he intentionally targeted the LGBT community. The administration should release the full, unredacted transcript so the public is clear-eyed about who did this, and why.”
Meanwhile, former Mayor of New York Rudolph Giuliani said of the decision to redact any references to ISIS or Mateen’s allegiance equates to removing references to Nazi’s during World War II.
“That would mean during the Second World War if I called up and said ‘I am part of the Nazi movement, I’ve joined here in the United States, and I’m going kill 49 Americans and we left out ‘Nazi movement,” Rudy told Fox and Friends earlier this morning. (Daily Caller)
