Trump trolls Sanders: 'He should run as an Independent!'

Say what you will about Donald Trump, we can all agree that he has a way of getting under a politicians’ skin. So far, we’ve really seen him use this super power on other Republicans (“No energy,” “Little Marco,” and “Lyin’ Ted”) but yesterday we got a small glimpse of what it might be like if Trump’s the GOP nominee and he turns his focus on Democrats.

With one tweet (re-tweeted over 10,000 times as of this writing) he trolls Bernie Sanders, his supporters, Hillary Clinton, her supporters, the Democratic Party and the media. It’s audacious and it’s hilarious.

I talked about it Tuesday on The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson on Fox News and I immediately jumped on the “Run, Bernie, Run!” bandwagon.

And why shouldn’t we all jump on that bandwagon?  The energy and excitement behind Bernie Sanders (not to mention the grassroots fundraising for his campaign) is perfectly suited for an independent run for the White House. And it would devastate the Democrats.

It was great to bring up the obvious rift in the party and Hillary Clinton’s inability to make inroads with the passionate followers of Sanders’ socialist movement.

While the media spend so much time salivating with anticipation over a hoped-for rift in the GOP and the threat of an independent run by Trump if he doesn’t secure the nomination in Cleveland, they’ve all but ignored the serious, irreconcilable differences with the Democrats. Trump has called them on it.

He also repeated the message at his victory speech after Tuesday’s primary wins. Will Sanders’ precious, socialist minions take the bait?  Only if Trump and the GOP are lucky.
