WSJ: European Officials Have Noticed Deterioration of the President’s Faculties For Months

President Biden likes to say he has a great relationship with other world leaders. He says that America is back, baby because he is president.

Privately, European leaders worry about Biden's mental and physical decline. Biden's performance during the presidential debate against former President Trump exposed just how bad the situation is. Those around him in the White House who have been making excuses for him have much 'splaining to do.

Biden's deterioration didn't just emerge on Thursday night. It's been covered up for a long time, thanks to a complicit staff around him and the desire of Democrats to retain power. European leaders are shocked.

The Wall Street Journal published a piece on what European leaders have witnessed during summits and meetings, like the G7 conferences, and Biden isn't doing well. The debate last week confirmed their suspicions

European officials had already been expressing worries in private about Biden’s focus and stamina before Thursday’s debate, with some senior diplomats saying they had tracked a noticeable deterioration in the president’s faculties in meetings since last summer. There were real doubts about how Biden could successfully manage a second term but one senior European diplomat said U.S. administration officials denied there was any problem in private discussions.

Diplomats described Biden’s performance at the Group of Seven leaders meeting in Italy in June as mixed, with Biden appearing physically frailer than in the past but alert in many of the most important discussions.

Biden missed the summit’s dinner party in a medieval castle, an off-camera and less scripted part of the summit when leaders often exchange views most candidly. He was the only G-7 leader to not attend the meal; the White House told reporters in advance he wouldn’t be there because it would be a “jam-packed two days” of meetings. Biden instead held an event with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and had a brief news conference.

Biden skipped the peace summit for Ukraine in Switzerland at the end of the G7. Instead, he flew to Los Angeles to attend a star-studded fundraiser.

During an EU-US summit last October in Washington, officials said Biden's performance and focus fluctuated between meetings, sometimes during a meeting. European senior officials said he "stumbled over his talking points at several moments, requiring Secretary of State Antony Blinken to intervene and point out the lines he should use."

Yikes. Blinken had to manage Biden's talking points during meetings

“The reading in Europe is that this has been an unmitigated disaster,” said Nathalie Tocci, director of the Institute of International Affairs in Rome and a former adviser to the EU’s foreign-affairs chiefs, referring to Biden’s attempts to reassure voters worried about his age. European officials and prominent commentators, she added, “have been talking about it. It’s something that has been known, always, that his age is his main Achilles heel.”

The reaction from the overseas press was immediate after the debate. The reaction from Poland was one of the first published. Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the Democrats have a problem. Poland's foreign minister compared Biden to Marcus Aurelius, who badly mismanaged his imperial succession. That contributed to Roman civilization's decline.

Ouch.

Tusk has known Biden for many years. “I was afraid of this. It was to be expected that in a direct confrontation, in a debate, it would not be easy for the president.” He stated the obvious - Democrats have a real problem on their hands.

Germans and Slovenia's former prime minister weighed in

“The Democrats must switch horses now,” Norbert Röttgen, a senior lawmaker in Germany’s center right main opposition party and the former chair of its parliament’s foreign affairs committee, said on social-media site X. Slovenia’s former Prime Minister Janez Janša said he’d bet months ago that Biden would no longer be on the ballot in November.

During a meeting with Zelensky, Biden flubbed up how the recent $225M funding by the United States would be used. Biden said it would go to Ukraine's electric grid reconstruction. The truth is that it will go to a series of munitions, including air defenses. It's not to rebuild the grid.

Biden experiences freezes in public. He had a well-documented freeze during a Juneteenth celebration at the White House. Nonetheless, Jill Biden and other Democrats continue to insist that only Joe can do the job. It's flat-out elder abuse.

Jill Biden is power-hungry. There is a strong case to be made that she is like Edith Wilson. Her husband isn't up to the job but she pretends everything is fine. Is Jill Biden making all the decisions in the White House? It's not Joe, that is clear.

Biden is not doing well at fundraisers. It is reported that he repeats the same stories more than once at gatherings. He starts talking about important issues, like supporting Israel, and then loses his train of thought. He mumbles incoherently. That is giving pause to major donors, as you would imagine.

The Hur Report audio tapes must be released. We know why they have been kept from the American public. They prove that Biden is in rapid decline. Will the White House continue to cover for Biden or will more of these stories come out from insiders close to the situation?

The Biden administration has been a lie from the start. We have been deceived by the White House and told not to believe our own lying eyes. The media is complicit and must be held accountable.

All of this tracks with something Axios published on Saturday. Campaign aides admit that there are two Joe Bidens - one can handle the job pretty well during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • From 10am to 4pm, Biden is dependably engaged — and many of his public events in front of cameras are held within those hours.
  • Outside of that time range or while traveling abroad, Biden is more likely to have verbal miscues and become fatigued, aides told Axios.

That is why Biden skips evening events when he can. The time of day determines his ability to do his job. Those who suffer from dementia experience sundowning. The Mayo Clinic website describes that as a state of confusion that occurs in late afternoon and continues into the night.

The term "sundowning" refers to a state of confusion that occurs in the late afternoon and lasts into the night. Sundowning can cause various behaviors, such as confusion, anxiety, aggression or ignoring directions. Sundowning also can lead to pacing or wandering.

Sundowning isn't a disease. It's a group of symptoms that occurs at a specific time of the day. These symptoms may affect people with Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. The exact cause of sundowning is not known.

There is no cure. Biden will only get worse as the weeks and months go by. Some question if he can make it through the remainder of his term in office. There is no way that Joe can last another full term. That means President Kamala, if eveything stands as it is today. That would be a catastrophe.

Joe Biden was not qualified to be president. A lifetime in politics does not qualify a person to be president. Kamala is even less qualified.

We've been lied to and deceived for four years. Republicans were right about him all along. The world watched the debate and the truth of Biden's condition without the help of a speechwriter and teleprompters was exposed. Our allies saw their concerns validated. Our enemies saw Biden's true condition, too. This is a very dangerous time. Biden is putting Americans around the world in danger.
