Joe Biden Used the Old Man With Poor Memory Defense to Special Counsel

Special counsel Robert Hur will not prosecute President Biden for his handling of classified documents. Hur's report, released Thursday afternoon, states that Biden's sloppy handling of the documents "present serious risks to national security."

Most importantly, the report states that Joe Biden portrayed himself as an "elderly man with a poor memory" meant to make himself a sympathetic person if he went before a jury.

It was found that Biden "willfully retained" the classified documents. Remember, these are classified documents that Biden was not entitled to possess. The documents go back to his days as a senator and as vice president. Only the president has to power to declassify documents, not a senator and not even a vice president.

"Our investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen," the report said, but the evidence "does not establish Mr. Biden's guilt beyond a reasonable doubt."

It isn't a surprise that Biden will not be charged. However, this report is bad news for Biden's re-election campaign. Not only does it portray him as a feeble old man who doesn't remember anything but there are many photographs included in the report that show the boxes as battered, with tattered corners, and coming open.

Biden knew, at least at some point, that the classified documents were in his possession.

About a month after he left office as vice president, in a recorded conversation with his ghostwriter in February 2017, Biden remarked that he “just found all this classified stuff downstairs," the report said. Biden was believed to have been referencing classified documents about the Afghanistan troop surge in 2009, which Biden opposed.

The most alarming thing about the report's conclusions is the president's diminished mental ability to recall past events. He didn't remember when he was vice president. He didn't remember when his son, Beau, died.

This is a long tweet but it provides evidence of Biden's lack of memory.

Biden kept handwritten notes from national security briefings and that is not something that is allowable. The notes were found in unlocked drawers in his home. He said the notebooks were his personal property but they are government property.

Biden was “emphatic,” according to the report, that his handwritten notebooks containing classified information were his property, saying in his interview with the special counsel’s office that “every president before me has done the exact same thing.”

Hur states that Biden's memory “was significantly limited” during the interviews in 2023. Hur knows, though, that a jury would not convict Biden. He would come off as a pleasant but feeble old man.

The special counsel's report doesn't spare Biden's feelings. The documents were scattered in many locations.

The materials included "marked classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan, and notebooks containing Mr. Biden’s handwritten entries about issues of national security and foreign policy implicating sensitive intelligence sources and methods."

Hur said FBI agents recovered the materials from "the garages, offices, and basement den in Mr. Biden’s Wilimington, Delaware home."

Frankly, this is a report written and released by people who wish to see Biden gone. There is reference after reference to Biden's mental state and it's not good. The special counsel concludes that Biden is so old and feeble that a jury wouldn't find him guilty. It speaks of Biden's "diminished facilities."  Yikes!

How does Biden run for re-election with all this out there for voters to see?

This is in sharp contrast to how Trump has been treated. Trump is being charged with espionage. His home was raided by the FBI. Granted, the feds say he resisted turning over classified documents so his treatment has been harsher, but still, Trump is a former president.

There was much angst and phony concern by the media when pictures released after the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago were released, showing boxes stored in bathrooms and other rooms. How is that any different than how Biden stored his boxes of documents, especially the ones in his garage with his precious Corvette?

Those boxes were there during the pandemic and Hunter Biden was staying at the house in Delaware where many documents were found. Wasn't that a national security risk? He doesn't have a security clearance.

The White House has been busy brushing off questions about Biden's memory. He's had a bad week with referencing meetings with dead foreign leaders.  The White House says it disagrees with some "inaccurate and inappropriate" comments.

Biden released a brief comment to slam Trump on the finding that he will not be prosecuted.

In a statement Thursday, Biden said that he was “pleased” that the special counsel’s report into his handling of classified documents did not include any charges. The president also added that this was “an exhaustive investigation” that went back more than 40 years.

And in a comment that will draw comparison to Donald Trump’s alleged attempts to withhold classified documents after he left office, Biden said his participation in Hur’s investigation was what Americans deserved.

This report states what most of us already know- Joe Biden is not fit to be president. His mental facilities are gone. He is just too old for the job. Press reports are already providing cover for poor old Joe by addressing how cooperative Biden was with investigators.

It boils down to this - Biden will not be prosecuted because of his mental state, not because he is innocent of wrongdoing. There are two systems of justice in Biden's America. Trump will be prosecuted and there will be no sympathy for him along the way.

Biden wasted no time in taking a victory lap. He began a speech Thursday afternoon by talking about the fact that he is not being charged. He compared how he handled his case and how Trump handled his. It is all politics all the time with Joe Biden. He didn't say it was because he's a feeble old man, though, that he isn't being prosecuted.
