Dem Lawmaker Heckled Kamala Harris, Escorted out of Holiday Party at VP's Residence

Kamala Harris and her husband held a holiday celebration at the vice president’s residence, the U.S. Naval Observatory, on Monday. They have been hosting festivities for officials, as the president and first lady do at the White House. The gathering was interrupted by a heckler.

Kamala was delivering some remarks to her guests when Delaware Representative Madinah Wilson-Anton unrolled a banner that read “ceasefire” as Kamala spoke. She shouted out at the vice president.

‘Madam Vice President, I am a rep from Delaware. Did you know in Bethlehem they are not celebrating Christmas? Did you know in Bethlehem, baby Jesus is under rubble? Why won’t you call for a cease-fire?’ Wilson-Anton shouted at Harris.

The Vice President fired back: ‘I appreciate you wanting to be heard, but right now I’m speaking.’

Wilson-Anton, a Democrat, serves in the Delaware House of Representatives. She is the first practicing Muslim elected to the Delaware General Assembly. The vice president’s reception was for state and local government officials. She was escorted out of the room.

What makes this story interesting is that 30 year old Wilson-Anton is a member of the Delaware House of Representatives, the state where Joe Biden resides, and she is a former employee of the University of Delaware’s Biden Institute. Ouch! She would fit right in with The Squad in Washington, D.C.

This outburst came just a few days after a group on 40 White House interns wrote an anonymous letter demanding that Biden call for an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza. They accused the president and vice president of ignoring the “pleas of the American people.” How brave, right? The interns were not bold enough to sign their names to the letter. They should all be fired. Interns are there to learn how to work in government. They are not there as advisers to the president or to help him make foreign policy. As Megyn Kelly said at the time, these are spoiled brats trying to make demands of the president.

‘This is what these lunatic leftists have wrought. You are now having interns demand things of the President of the United States who has been good enough to give them a position in the White House,’ she said.

‘These courageous souls who as I say, almost certainly got these jobs thanks to their parents’ donations, did not put their names on the letter. They would like to remain anonymous. They want to be anonymous, entitled brats.’

The interns checked all the identity boxes, though, so there’s that. It’s very important to Biden that those around him check as many identity boxes as possible. Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, hits the trifecta. She is black, an immigrant, and a lesbian. I wonder if any of the interns topped that? Their letter claimed that they are “Palestinian, Jewish, Arab, Muslim, Christian, Black, Asian, Latine, White and Queer.” No Indigenous people? What about colonization? Someone should alert H.R. so that can be fixed.

The spoiled brats are demanding the end of Israel with a ceasefire. Hamas benefits from a ceasefire because they re-group and prepare to continue the war. Israel honors ceasefires but Hamas does not. On October 7 a ceasefire was in place, yet Hamas crossed into Israel and massacred more than 1,200 people. They took dozens of hostages. Hamas killed young people and others who were attending a music festival near the border with Gaza.

Israel did not start the war. Hamas did. Israel has the right to defend herself as Hamas (a proxy for Iran) tries to eliminate Israel from the map. Hamas wants to kill all Jews. The attack had been planned over the course of about two years. This is Hamas. Israel cannot exist with Hamas on its border. Hamas has to be destroyed.

There was a temporary ceasefire last month that lasted seven days. The purpose was to give space for the release of hostages and to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza. Israeli hostages were released in exchange for Palestinian criminals jailed in Israel. Hamas violated that ceasefire.

Rep. Wilson-Anton referenced Bethlehem in her heckling of the vice president. Normally this is a busy time for Bethlehem but not this year because of the war. Tourists are staying away the West Bank, which is leaving hotels, restaurants, and souvenir shops deserted. There has been a rise in violence in the West Bank, according to business owners in Bethlehem. They said no one was coming.

“We have no guests. Not one,” said Joey Canavati, owner of the Alexander Hotel, whose family has lived and worked in Bethlehem for four generations.

“This is the worst Christmas ever. Bethlehem is shut down for Christmas. No Christmas tree, no joy, no Christmas spirit,” he said.

Located just south of Jerusalem, Bethlehem is heavily reliant for income and jobs on visitors from all over the world who come to see the Church of the Nativity, believed by Christians to stand on the site where Jesus was born.

Canavati said that before Oct. 7, his hotel was fully booked for Christmas, to the point that he was looking for rooms elsewhere in the town to help out people he could not fit in.

Since the war started, everyone cancelled, including bookings for next year. “All we get on the email is cancellation after cancellation after cancellation,” said Canavati.

He took Reuters TV on a tour of the hotel, opening doors to empty rooms and showing the silent dining room.
“We had at least 120 people having dinner here every night and it was packed. The noise, the people. Empty. No Christmas breakfast, no Christmas dinner, no Christmas buffet,” he said.

There is a human price paid in all wars. Not just deaths and injuries, but a price is paid when everyday life is disrupted. Businesses support communities and that shuts down during war.

A reference to the baby Jesus being under rubble likely comes from a church that put up a Nativity scene among some rubble.

Munther, 44, originally from Beit Sahour, one of the towns with a large Arab Christian population surrounding Bethlehem, recently traveled to the United States. There, among many other appointments, he delivered a letter to the White House that he had signed along with other Palestinian Christian clergy and which, he was assured, would find its way into the hands of President Joe Biden. “We wrote a letter of peace, uncontroversial, and asking for an immediate ceasefire,” he said at the end of the Eucharist. But the U.S. response was the veto last Friday of the ceasefire resolution in the United Nations Security Council, he laments with more derision than surprise. “They also replied by confirming a new arms deal with Israel. I commented on it in the sermon. There they celebrate Christmas with presents and lights, and here they send us weapons and the machinery of war,” he adds sarcastically.

After his return to the West Bank on December 1, the day on which the week-long ceasefire between Israel and Hamas came to an end, the Lutheran Christmas Church in Bethlehem, where Munther works, decided to set up the nativity scene among the rubble. The priest says he has received “messages of solidarity and support from all over the world” and that there are “churches asking permission to make posters and postcards and to put it in their Nativity scenes and calendars.”

A Nativity scene strategically placed on top of rubble was meant to send a message, it was not a result of the war. Hamas propaganda is strong. Joe Biden and other Democrats who initially supported Israel are going wobbly now. Hamas (Iran) can see it happening and will continue emotional propaganda to change public opinion.

Joe Biden accused Israel of “indiscriminate bombing” on Tuesday. Unbelievable. Israel is known for precision fighting and warning civilians before it attacks. He said Israel’s response was eroding international support. What else is new? It is Israel versus the rest of the world all the time, except for support from the United States. Joe Biden is going wobbly from pushback from Muslim voters and the far-left. He’s running for re-election and trying to appease everyone.
