Border Patrol agents are being ordered to cut razor wire installed along the Texas border. The razor wire is to keep out the illegal aliens crossing over the border. What can go wrong?

This is madness. Razor wire is put up as part of Operation Lone Star, an initiative put in place by Governor Abbott in March 2021 to battle the explosion of illegal aliens crossing the border. The Border Patrol work under the Department of Homeland Security. DHS answers to the president. The Border Patrol is being ordered to cut the razor wire to allow the migrants waiting on the other side of it to come through. Don’t blame Border Patrol – they are just following orders.

Mark Morgan, former acting Customs and Border Protection commissioner, was quick to defend the Border Patrol agents whom he claims are simply doing as they’re told.

”I want to be crystal clear — what’s happening is not the fault of the men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol,” Morgan told the Daily Caller.

Thursday some video of illegal aliens fist bumping Border Patrol agents was posted on X.

When this first happened earlier this week, Governor Abbott immediately doubled down and ordered the razor wire be replaced.

Border crossings increased to 8,000 per day last week. Eagle Pass, Texas is the current epicenter for the Biden border crisis. In August, there were more than 232,000 illegal aliens who made their way over the U.S.-Mexico border. Eagle Pass is a town with a population of 28,000. More than 7,500 flooded into the town on Monday and Tuesday.

Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas signed an Emergency Declaration last weekend. The mayor said the city will not be opening a shelter. ‘We don’t have the funds or resources to do that.’ Salinas is a Democrat.

It’s a no-win situation for Governor Abbott. He’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t do all he can to secure the Texas border. Biden left border states on their own to handle illegal aliens crossing the border in historically high numbers. When Abbott does act, he is usually pretty quickly identified as a border hawk. It’s his brand since the pandemic.

Elon Musk voiced surprise that the press doesn’t bother to report on the Biden border crisis. He said he would go to Eagle Pass this week. He arrived on Thursday. He wanted to see what is going on there and talk to local officials. Musk has an extremely busy life trying to save the world but he found time to see Eagle Pass. Perhaps Joe Biden will be inspired to go to the border, too. Don’t hold your breath.

It’s good that Elon Musk is bringing interest to the southern border. The press will follow him.

He is doing what Biden and Harris won’t. They don’t care.
