NY mayor to move 80 illegal alien adults to a popular family-friendly park in Brooklyn

Things are not going very well in New York City. Mayor Eric Adams seems to be unable to cope with illegal aliens coming into the city, though he claims it is a sanctuary city.

Shouldn’t a self-proclaimed sanctuary city be prepared to handle illegal aliens who come to the city and need all kinds of assistance until they are reunited with family members or sponsors? Now Mayor Adams is doing a bait and switch. The immigrants who came here illegally because Joe Biden sends the message that we don’t need no stinkin’ borders, take the opportunity to go to New York when the opportunity presents itself. Some come from Texas via migrant buses paid for by Texas taxpayers.

Adams used to slam Governor Abbott and call him a racist, a bigot, and all the isms until he began to feel the pressure to act on the illegal aliens who are now gathering outside the Roosevelt Hotel, living on the sidewalk until shelter can be found for them. Fear not, the mayor has a plan. Adams is going to put about 80 single adult illegal aliens in a popular family-friendly park. What could possibly go wrong?

Brooklyn’s McCarren Park Play Center may see them as soon as this weekend, officials announced Thursday.

Roughly 80 adult asylum seekers will move into a wing of the recreational center, located on the border of hipster neighborhoods Williamsburg and Greenpoint, Mayor Eric Adams notified local lawmakers Wednesday night.

Earlier this week, I wrote about Adams telling New Yorkers that the migrant crisis would be coming to a neighborhood near them. I guess he’s making good on that prediction. Local politicians are supporting this plan while trying to reassure locals that they won’t lose access to he public facilities he park offers.

“Over the past week, hundreds of men have slept on the street outside of the Roosevelt Hotel in midtown Manhattan. As the homelessness and asylum seeker crisis continues to worsen, it’s the responsibility of every community to open its doors and provide shelter to those in greatest need,” Democratic Rep. Nydia Velázquez, Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, State Senator Kristen Gonzalez, Assemblymember Emily Gallagher, and Council Members Lincoln Restler and Jennifer Gutiérrez said Thursday in a joint statement.

The pols, however, insisted that “public access to the pool and fitness center will not be impacted” and that “additional security will be in place to ensure everyone’s safety.”

A bunch of homeless illegal aliens, all single adults, will move into a portion of the rec center, but don’t worry. Everything will be like normal.

Meanwhile, DHS Secretary Mayorkas promised Adams he would send a staffer to work as a liaison between the city and the federal government. That was over a week ago but so far, Adams hasn’t seen a liaison. Shocker. DHS either is dragging its feet or is just ignoring NYC and its pleas for help with the illegal aliens. Given the Biden administration negligence of the southern border, why would Adams believe that DHS would honor its promises they made just to wrap up a meeting in D.C. and get him and other New York politicians out of their office? Sounds like Adams got played.

So, good luck Brooklyn. Your neighborhood parks are going to be taken over by the mayor and homeless illegal aliens. I’m sure everything will be fine.
