KJP roasted for idiotic response to Doocy's question about drug cartels on the border

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed that the Biden administration has successfully gotten the fentanyl crisis under control during Tuesday’s press briefing. She was immediately torched on social media for her idiotic response to FNC’s Peter Doocy’s question on border security and drug cartels.

Violence by drug cartels and gangs along the southern border is nothing new. It has reached new levels, though, since the Biden border crisis exploded since Biden took office. A reminder of the deadly consequences of gang activity was splashed in recent news cycles when four Americans were attacked and kidnapped by Mexicans just across the border from Brownsville, Texas. The Americans crossed into Matamoros, Tamaulipas on Friday. Their vehicle came under gunfire by Mexicans presumed to be members of a drug cartel. They loaded the Americans up into the back of a pick-up truck. On the video footage, it appears that two of the American hostages were already dead or injured as the gangsters dragged their bodies to the truck. The reason for their trip to Mexico is unclear. Authorities initially thought they were caught in the crossfire of rival gangs on the border. The White House called the attack and kidnapping of four Americans in Mexico as unacceptable.

As usual, the White House appears slow in reacting to an American hostage situation. Just like how Biden handles national security along the southern border, he always seems to be a day late and a dollar short. This White House is reactive, not proactive on any issue. The dangers and consequences of the Biden border crisis were completely predictable yet no one in the White House, especially Joe Biden, appear to take the porous southern border seriously. Who cares? Not this administration.

So, FNC’s Peter Doocy did what he does so well during Tuesday’s press briefing with Karine Jean-Pierre. He zeroed in on cartel activity along the southern border and asked her why Joe Biden is ok with having the cartels operating there with impunity. Her answer floored everyone except the usual Biden surrogates, namely the other members of the White House press corps.

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy addressed the spokeswoman at Tuesday’s press briefing and asked, “So cartels kill Americans on this side of the border with drugs, and now they’re killing Americans on the other side of the border with guns. Why is President Biden so comfortable with cartels operating so close to the U.S.?”

Jean-Pierre responded by claiming that fentanyl is currently at “historic lows-historic levels” under Biden’s presidency.

“Because of the work that this president has done, because of what we’ve done specifically on fentanyl at the border, it’s at historic lows — historic levels that we have been able to record a number of personnel working to secure the border because of what we’ve been able to do, seizing that fentanyl,” Jean-Pierre said. “We’ve done it in a historic way. That’s because of what this President has done.”

Doocy followed by noting that “Now Americans are being slaughtered,” and asked, “Would President Biden be taking the same approach if it was al-Qaeda or ISIS operating just across the border from an American city?”

Jean-Pierre responded by claiming that Biden takes the problem “seriously” and said, “The FBI and other agencies have been on top of this from day one,” before dodging a question about whether the military should get involved against heavily-armed cartels.

Excuse me, which border is she talking about? Talk about a master class in gaslighting a reporter. Who in their right mind thinks that the Biden administration has the fentanyl crisis under control? The border is as porous as it has been since Biden invited illegal migrants to cross the border during his presidential campaign. Seizures of fentanyl at the border are at all-time highs. Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 18 and 45.

Reactions on social media pointed out the obvious – KJP is either shamelessly lying to protect Biden or she is as hopelessly out-of-touch with reality as the rest of the Biden administration.

Bill Melugin, Fox News national correspondent, tweeted about her statements. He is the lone national correspondent who has covered the Biden border crisis since its beginning. Other news channels and agencies show little interest in the porous border and the humanitarian crisis it has created.

It is generous of Melugin to ask if she simply misspoke. It’s certainly possible because she is utterly out of her league in her job but in this case? No. She knew what she was saying. She’s familiar with the administration’s talking points – her ever-present binder has them for every subject. She answers questions by reading out of her binder during every press briefing. Without it, she would be mute.

There has been an arrest in the kidnapping of the four Americans. The suspect was found guarding the shack in which the Americans were found to be held. Two Americans died. One was seriously injured.

Joe Biden doesn’t care. The crisis is intentional or else it would not be happening. Biden is captive to the open borders crowd. He ignores the consequences until he can’t. When a news story catches on with other networks than FNC, his press secretary is asked about it. The uncomfortable questions usually come from Peter Doocy. That is why Biden rarely acknowledges Doocy during his press opportunities, limited as they are. There is no other conclusion to be made – the humanitarian and national security crisis along the southern border, as well as the chaos it creates for border communities, is intentional.
