It's a Christmas miracle! Networks discover the Biden border crisis and suddenly it's news

Lo and behold, some of the legacy media and cable news channels are discovering the Biden border crisis. There have actually been news reports on-air and published online from the likes of MSNBC, CBS, and CNN that show the humanitarian crisis created by Joe Biden on the U.S.-Mexico border. The administration is bracing for the explosion in the number of migrants crossing the border that is predicted in less than a week when Title 42 ends. That happens in just six days – December 21.

The reason for the sudden interest after two years of the ever-growing Biden border crisis is the stories coming out of El Paso, Texas. El Paso is experiencing a surge of thousands of migrants coming to the city and one 20 bus caravan was even escorted to the border by Mexican police. That caravan alone brought 1,000 migrants into El Paso, as they left the buses and crossed the border into Texas. Facilities and resources in El Paso are now so overwhelmed that hundreds of migrants are being released into the streets because there is nowhere to house them.

The mid-terms are over and Democrats have taken their victory lap for the lack of a red wave. So, it would seem the networks have decided it is safe now to do their job and head to the southern border to see what is happening.

MSNBC correspondent Cal Perry noted that this kind of crisis is “unsustainable.” And, in response to his report, host Jose Diaz-Balart said, “What a tragic humanitarian crisis.” Welcome to the party, guys.

“In El Paso they say they just do not have the resources to deal with this many migrants,” said … “They say it’s unsustainable and they expect the situation here to get even worse, with a bigger migrant influx potentially next week as Title 42 is lifted.”

Deep thoughts, eh? These guys deserve to be mocked. Where the hell have they been for two years as this has continued to build up? I know that most of the migrants are arriving in Texas, a red state, but, c’mon. It’s a national story. The U.S.-Mexico border also goes to Arizona, a little bit to New Mexico, and to California. Not only is it a humanitarian crisis, it is a national security crisis, too.

My former colleague at NewsBusters reports on CBS’s sudden interest in the subject, too.

“Tonight, facilities along the southern border are being stretched to the breaking point because of an increase in migrants from Central America and the numbers are expected to grow in the coming weeks,” announced CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell.

Chief White House correspondent Nancy Cores noted that “[t]he numbers have startled even longtime activists” with “2,400 migrants attempting to pass the border near El Paso Sunday alone” on top of the fact that “encounters…were smashing records this year.”

Adding that the COVID-related measure, Title 42 is slated to expire next week, Cordes noted Homeland Security Security Alejandro Mayorkas “was on the border today, even as a group of Republicans vowed to impeach him once they control the House next year.”

Welcome to the party, ladies. They all deserve to be called out for covering for the Biden administration’s dereliction of duty and for the timing of their sudden interest.

Tuesday night NBC Nightly News, correspondent Gabe Gutierrez reported from Juarez, Mexico. He discovered tension and fights in migrant camps. He spoke with some who are waiting for Title 42 to end before crossing the border. He included some of the standard liberal heart-tugging tidbits, like how the temperature had taken a dip and the migrants were having a miserable night. Then he parroted the Biden administration’s line about smugglers.

“The Department Homeland Security blames criminal smuggling organizations for exploiting migrants for profit and says it’s deployed more agents to the region.”

Human trafficking and drug trafficking are rampant along the border, no doubt about it. But the blame lies with Joe Biden and his stubborn refusal to admit he was wrong to end policies and agreements that worked during the previous administration. The increase in trafficking is a result of his policies which have left the border wide open. I’ve even heard White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre blame Republicans for the Biden border crisis. That takes some cojones. Democrats have been in charge of everything since Biden took office two years ago.

We’ll take a Christmas miracle when we receive one. We’ll see how long their interest in the border lasts. Has it finally gotten to the point where the networks, besides Fox, can no longer ignore it?
