Round-up: Liberal hysteria over SCOTUS reversal of Roe v Wade

The Supreme Court announced its ruling on overturning Roe v Wade today and as expected, pro-life people rejoiced while pro-abortion people delivered doom and gloom hot takes. Rest assured, many of the liberals who are showing their displeasure with the 6-3 decision today have been preparing their remarks since the leak of Alito’s draft opinion.

Let’s start with Barack and Michelle Obama. The former president had his response posted very shortly after the ruling was announced. It’s pretty standard fare for Obama. Ironically, he points a finger at “politicians and ideologues” for taking away “essential freedom” from millions of Americans.

“Today, the Supreme Court not only reversed nearly 50 years of precedent, it relegated the most intensely personal decision someone can make to the whims of politicians and ideologues—attacking the essential freedoms of millions of Americans.”

Obama continued, “Across the country, states have already passed bills restricting choice. If you’re looking for ways to respond, @PPFA, @USOWomen, and many other groups have been sounding the alarm on this issue for years—and will continue to be on the front lines of this fight.

“For more than a month, we’ve known this day was coming—but that doesn’t make it any less devastating.”

Then he retweeted a call to action for supporters to get out the vote in November.

Let’s remember, though, that if Barack Obama was truly passionate about abortion ‘rights’ he would have moved to get Congress to codify Roe v Wade. He had a super-majority when he was in office but he chose to put all his political capital into Obamacare. There is no constitutional right to abortion. Democrats made it up, using the right to privacy as an excuse for women to terminate pregnancies.

Twenty minutes after Obama’s tweet, Michelle released her opinion.

“I am heartbroken that we may now be destined to learn the painful lessons of the time before Roe was made law of the land — a time when women risked losing their lives getting illegal abortions,” Obama said.

“A time when the government denied women control over their reproductive functions, forced them to move forward with pregnancies they didn’t want, and then abandoned them once their babies were born.”

She also called for the younger generation to get out and vote in November as a remedy.

Obama called the decision a “horrifying” one that will have “devastating consequences,” and added that it “must be a wake-up call” for younger generations.

“I know this is not the future you chose for your generation — but if you give up now, you will inherit a country that does not resemble you or any of the values you believe in.”

She called on people to channel their “frustration and anger” into action and encouraged them to get involved with organizations like Planned Parenthood and The United States of Women.

The most ridiculous statements came from Joe Biden. Shocker, I know. Remember when Joe Biden was a senator forever and he was vocally a pro-life kind of guy? Good times. Good times.

Then he became vice-president and joined in the extremism of the Obamas on the subject. During his remarks after the decision was announced, Biden said the Supreme Court “expressly took away a constitutional right from the American people.” That’s the whole point – there was no constitutional right to abortion. He had to take a swipe at Trump, because he cannot speak without doing so, and blamed their “extreme ideology.”

He made some wild claims. He referenced the possibility of red states allowing home medical cabinets to be searched. That was weird. Does he think state officials are going to go door-to-door looking for contraception or the morning after pills? He must have been confused – Beto O’Rourke was the one who said he’d go door-to-door to confiscate guns from legal owners if he were president. Biden liked that answer so much he said he’d bring Beto on as gun czar. That was just another Biden lie, though.

Biden did finally call for peace during protests. It was several weeks too late for some pro-life centers and the offices of conservative Republicans when he was busy remaining silent about domestic terrorism. Biden also claimed that the Court’s decision puts America as an outlier in the modern world. That’s wrong. European countries ban or limit abortion. With America’s allowance for abortion up to the time of birth for any reason, America was more like China and North Korea.

Biden tossed down the gauntlet – the November midterm elections are now all about abortion. Challenge accepted.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke up. Abortion in Canada is legal at all stages of pregnancy, regardless of the reason, and is publicly funded as a medical procedure.

Except, of course, for the COVID-19 vaccine mandates he forced upon Canadians. He wasn’t all about personal choice then.

Here’s crazy Maxine Waters doing her thing. Perhaps Rep. Al Green standing masked and silent next to her is holding her purse.

Sandy from the Bronx calls the Supreme Court illegitimate and for people to take it to the streets.

Democrats are sounding kinda violent, aren’t they?

I’ll end with Hillary Clinton because, you know, she just won’t leave.
