Where's the transparency, Joe? Biden quietly killed several of Trump's executive orders this week

Remember the daily photo ops at the White House as Joe Biden signed executive orders to advance his agenda in the early days of his term as president? Biden, a career politician in the U.S. Senate and then a vice-president, knows full well that his far-left political agenda will not fly with at least half of the American people. He chooses instead to will his wish list of initiatives and policies into reality by signing executive orders and actions, thus going around Congress. Along the way, Biden has also scrapped as many of Trump’s executive orders as possible.

He’s still at it. Biden tossed four of Trump’s executive orders on the trash heap this week. He is very determined to prove the contrast between himself and the bad Orange Man, as though we are all deaf, dumb, and blind. The contrast is obvious and for at least half of America, we don’t think that’s something to boast about. This time Biden is targeting public monuments and online censorship of conservatives.

There will be no Garden of American Heroes during the Biden administration. Last year, President Trump signed an order that created space for a collection of monuments – a garden, if you will. This gesture was in response to the fervor from the socialist/Marxist left who are determined to destroy, at worst, or move out of sight, at the very least, any monument they deem racist or out of touch with their radical agenda to destroy American history. To mark the Fourth of July in 2020, Trump signed ‘Building and Rebuilding Monuments to American Heroes’. The order included a timetable for opening such a ‘garden’ – before the 250th anniversary of the proclamation of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026. Trump didn’t specify a location for the project. It was to be the responsibility of the Department of Interior to get it done. Trump did provide a list of possible candidates for a monument which included Kobe Bryant, Walt Disney, and Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek. Trebek was a Canadian who became an American citizen in 1997.

“America owes its present greatness to its past sacrifices,” Trump wrote in the order. “Because the past is always at risk of being forgotten, monuments will always be needed to honor those who came before.”

Joe Biden did away with the ‘Protecting American Monuments, Memorials, and Statues and Combating Recent Criminal Violence’ executive order that addresses vandalism, defacing, and destruction of monuments. Trump signed that order last June as violent protesters destroyed monuments, mostly those of Confederate War figures and slave owners. Trump wanted violators to be prosecuted to the fullest.

“Individuals and organizations have the right to peacefully advocate for either the removal or the construction of any monument. But no individual or group has the right to damage, deface or remove any monument by use of force,” Trump wrote in the order.

Trump signed an executive order last May that addressed online censorship like the warning labels social media platforms placed on Trump’s tweets or posts. He was frequently cited for distributing misinformation, especially on the coronavirus pandemic and was eventually completely kicked off social media platforms after the events of January 6. The executive order titled ‘Preventing Online Censorship’ has been nixed by Joe Biden. Trump directed the commerce secretary to petition the FCC over social media companies’ practices. He directed every federal agency head to review if there was any spending of federal dollars to advertise on social media platforms.

“Twitter now selectively decides to place a warning label on certain tweets in a manner that clearly reflects political bias. As has been reported, Twitter seems never to have placed such a label on another politician’s tweet. As recently as last week, Representative Adam Schiff was continuing to mislead his followers by peddling the long-disproved Russian Collusion Hoax, and Twitter did not flag those tweets. Unsurprisingly, its officer in charge of so-called ‘Site Integrity’ has flaunted his political bias in his own tweets,” Trump wrote in the official executive order.

Trump’s executive order titled ‘Rebranding United States Foreign Assistance to Advance American Influence’ has also been tossed. Trump envisioned a re-branding of foreign aid, one that gives American taxpayers the credit for American generosity. He wanted to roll out a new federal logo within 120 days of the order, for example, to “foster goodwill between the recipients of United States foreign assistance and the American people, and to encourage the governments of nations that are receiving foreign assistance to support the United States.”

“[I]t is essential that recipients of United States foreign assistance be aware of the manifold efforts of American taxpayers to aid them and improve their lives,” Trump wrote.

That executive order is gone now, too.

Separate from these four executive action cancelations, Biden also ended Trump’s order that required any potential immigrant to the U.S. to provide assurance that they would not be a “financial burden” on America’s health care system. Biden said that the order doesn’t “align with U.S. interests.”

“My Administration is committed to expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare,” Biden said in a statement. “We can achieve that objective, however, without barring the entry of noncitizens who seek to immigrate lawfully to this country but who lack significant financial means or have not purchased health insurance coverage from a restrictive list of qualifying plans.”

The southern border is wide open and illegal migrants are being assured that free health care awaits them across the border. Thanks, Joe.
