North Korea’s Kim Yo-jong is the new star for the liberal, Trump-deranged

Adding onto what Jazz wrote yesterday, my biggest surprise from the Olympics opening ceremony was the fawning and gushing over the sister of Kim Jong-un, otherwise known as little Rocket Man.

In today’s Trump-deranged America, journalists and like-minded Hollywood celebs painted the sister of North Korea’s brutal dictator as an iconic figure and the vice-president and his wife as ugly Americans. When Friday’s opening ceremony of the Olympics was broadcast that night, rave reviews poured in from the left – for Kim Jong-un’s sister’s alleged side eye glance to Pence.

Kim Yo-jong was seated directly behind Vice-President Pence and his wife, Karen. It appears the awkward seating arrangement was done on purpose, as seating is assigned. All were in South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in’s box.

A national correspondent for the Washington Post mentioned it.

CNN International calls her a star.

Hollywood filmmaker and author Michael Moore delivered a couple of typically deranged tweets. One even compared the human rights violations of North Korea to America’s “mass incarceration and 30M without health care.” Yes, that’s the mindset of the Trump deranged.

The Indianapolis Star published tweets with reactions to Vice-President Pence and Mrs. Pence remaining seated as the Korean athletes marched in, South and North Korea together. Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe didn’t stand, either, but that seems to be overlooked. The left and Never Trumpers call the gesture embarrassing. And, for an extra measure of nastiness, Mrs. Pence is referred to as “mother”.

The father of Otto Warmbier, the young American man held hostage in North Korea and released on his deathbed thanks to the Trump administration’s efforts, Fred is a guest of the Vice President’s. Slate calls this gesture an “iffy move” in an article about Pence’s place on their Olympics Jerks Watch. But, the article continues, maybe it’s “impolite” but good to remember the young man’s death. Yes, Slate, that would exactly be the point.

Finally, Pence brought Fred Warmbier as his guest to Pyeongchang. Fred Warmbier is the father of Otto Warmbier, the deceased American student who suffered traumatic brain damage while incarcerated in North Korea after he was arrested and convicted for allegedly trying to steal a poster from a hotel. Given the fragile state of diplomatic relations between the U.S. and North Korea, this feels like an iffy move.

Lastly, though it may have been impolite to bring Fred Warmbier to Pyeongchang, the North Korean regime did kill Fred Warmbier’s son, and we shouldn’t forget it. Maybe it’s actually a good thing that Mike Pence is forcing us to remember.
