White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has the Trump haters in a snit. The woman is learning to master her Twitter account and the left falls for it every time. And you thought #piegate was dumb. Now it’s #shotgungate.

Sanders went home to Arkansas during the Christmas holiday and tweeted out a photo of herself holding a shotgun on a target range. Oh, the horror! Then she playfully smacked the firestorm that was ignited by her pie baking skills thanks to a liberal female White House press corps reporter.

Sanders posted the shotgun-toting selfie on Wednesday, captioning it, “Back home where we learned how to do more than just bake pecan pies.”

Clever woman, that Sarah. So far, I haven’t seen a response from April Ryan.

The predictable knee-jerk reaction from the left began on gun safety, as though suddenly the gun-haters are experts. The critics tweeted out disapproval of the shotgun’s position on her shoulder and that she wasn’t wearing earplugs or protective eyewear.  Sanders has long hair and there is no way anyone can determine if she is using earplugs or not, as her hair covered her ears.

Calmer voices tweeted that Sanders’ stance is perfectly acceptable for a person who has already taken a shot. Also, protective eyewear would not be necessary at that point. What if she just took a selfie as she ended target practice?

New Hampshire Representative and Assistant Majority Leader, Victoria Sullivan, tweeted a rational response:

First they say she didn’t actually bake her own pies. Now they say she can’t shoot (They can’t read either, she clearly states she is not hunting). If you are a conservative woman, you are fair game. It’s ok, we are tough enough to take it. You go @PressSec! #TrapShooting

One of the reasons I appreciate Sarah Huckabee Sanders as press secretary is her ability to set off her critics, which inevitably does not end well for them. It seems a well-rounded Southern woman brings out the worst of the left. The first working mom to hold the title of White House Press Secretary also bakes and shoots skeet. I like that.
