Reactions to the Musk-Trump Feud

I wrote about this earlier before things really broke loose a couple hours ago.

And that has led to some more angry words exchanged, with Trump threatening to cancel Elon's contracts like he's Harvard and Musk volunteering to stand down his own launch system.

And it just keeps going.

This is a clash of the titans.

I really don't think any of this was planned. You can feel Musk's anger is genuine and has been building for two days. But that said...

For one thing, Musk's friendship with Trump has killed Tesla. Sales are down as liberals refuse to buy a car from someone they see as a Trump ally. After today, that could look different.

Was waiting for someone to break out this meme.

Trump is trying, not completely successfully (see above), to keep his eyes on the prize. He's trying to bring the focus back to the bill.

Meanwhile, Musk is not holding back at all.

It's weird to think about but this really could be something kids talk about in public schools one day. This is potentially a big split that probably cannot be repaired and it could have a big impact on both of them.

All of this is overshadowing the absolutely savage takedown of Karine Jean-Pierre today by fellow Democrats.

Lucky timing for KJP. But if Trump is holding back a bit, his old ally Steve Bannon (and my former boss) is not. He's talking about deporting Musk.

Still some folks thinking this can't be real.

I think we crossed out any chance this was staged when Elon started connecting Trump to Epstein. But despite being very real it also has a lot of entertainment value.

How soon before someone buzzkills the whole thing?

Democrats are, for the moment, still enjoying themselves.

Some think Musk should have seen this coming.

MK Ham is joking but also she's right.

Actually, Tesla vandalism has slowed down since Musk stepped back from DOGE. That's no a coincidence. That was the goal of the vandalism after all.

I'll keep updating this a bit longer.

I wonder what they're talking about in the Oval Office?

Looks like the White House is sticking with this.

Update: Scott Jennings says "It's an ugly day."
