Early Monday morning the fire department was called out to a Tesla charging station in Littleton, Massachusetts where a group of Tesla charging stations were on fire.

The fires were first reported at approximately 1:10 a.m. on Monday morning when the Littleton Police Department in Massachusetts were dispatched to The Point Shopping Center due to reports of several fires at the Tesla charging stations there, according to a statement from the Littleton Police Department...

Once the fires were extinguished and the electric supply was cut off, officers launched a preliminary investigation and determined that the fires appear to have been deliberately set.

“Littleton Police and Fire Departments and the Massachusetts State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit attached to the State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating and have determined that the fire appears to have been intentionally set,” police said.

The good news is that no one was injured. The bad news is that someone intentionally set the chargers on fire and did thousands of dollars of damage, likely as a form of protest against Elon Musk. Police haven't given much information about why they believe this was arson but this is shaping up as someone pouring gasoline on electric car chargers to start the fire.

Of course we won't know the precise reason the arsonist set it until they are arrested but it seems pretty likely this has some connection to Elon Musk suddenly becoming the #1 target of angry liberals in the US. This isn't even the first arson attack that has been aimed at Tesla. Starting in late January, a string of vandalism and arson were directed at a Tesla dealership in Colorado. And in this case we don't have to guess why. These attacks were clearly motivated by anti-Musk sentiment.

On January 29, the Loveland Police Department received a report of a fire on the ground beneath a Cybertruck. When responding officers arrived, the fire had already been extinguished and there was no damage to the vehicle. A Smirnoff Ice bottle with a cloth stuffed into the neck was collected from the scene, the affidavit says.

A second incident was reported to police on February 2. According to the document, a supervisor at the Tesla dealership and a passerby both called police to report the word “Nazi” had been spray painted in black onto the Tesla sign in front of the store. The graffiti had been cleaned prior to police’s arrival, but a photo was provided to law enforcement.

The third incident, involving both graffiti and possible arson, was reported less than a week later on February 7, according to the affidavit. When police arrived, they observed several broken Smirnoff Ice bottles “with black colored fabric, acting as a wick,” in addition to red graffiti on a wall of the dealership and several vehicles, the document says...

In a final incident, on February 11, the affidavit says a security guard called police to report the words “F**k Musk” had been spray painted in red on the front windows of the dealership. The guard was unable to catch the individual and had started cleaning some of the graffiti before police arrived.

One week later police arrested Lucy Grace Nelson a trans woman whose Toyota Prius contained additiional incendiary devices and paint. This is Lucy Grace Nelson, formerly Justin Thomas Nelson.

Also last month a Tesla dealership in Oregon was targeted twice with arson and gunshots.

Salem police and federal agents are investigating a shooting early Wednesday morning that damaged windows at the Tesla dealership in south Salem.

The shooting is the second criminal incident at the dealership in just the past month, following a suspected vehicle arson and window damage on Jan. 20.

The worst case of arson aimed at Tesla happened in France:

Last night, a dozen Tesla vehicles burned down at Tesla’s retail and service location in Plaisance-du-Touch near Toulouse, France.

Firefighters arrived on the scene at around 4 a.m. and contained the fire to the vehicles. Eight of them were completely destroyed, and four were greatly damaged. The damages are estimated at over 700,000 euros.

According to the local news (translated from French), the police suspected arson as a hole was found in a fence, and threats had been made over the last few weeks.

Anarchist groups in France had called for burning down Tesla dealerships prior to the attack. Here in the US actor Alex Winter, of Bill and Ted fame, has been organizing something called "Tesla Takedown" to protest Musk through Tesla.

Demonstrators gathered at more than 50 Tesla showrooms across the United States on Saturday in protest of CEO Elon Musk’s role in slashing government agencies as part of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency established by President Donald Trump.

The protests are part of “Tesla Takedown,” which, according to its website, hopes to encourage stakeholders to “sell your Teslas, dump your stock, join the picket lines.”

“Creating a vote of no confidence in him from the shareholders, that would be the ultimate goal,” Alex Winter, a Los Angeles-based actor and filmmaker who is one of the main organizers, told CNN.

This type of anti-Musk sentiment is something Democrats have been doing their best to stoke lately. You may have heard that Randi Weingarten, head of the AFT teacher's union recently sent a letter to investment funds suggesting they reconsider their positions in Tesla stock.

On Thursday, American Federation of Teachers (AFT) president Randi Weingarten sent a letter to the CEOs of six major asset management firms, outlining the union’s concerns over Tesla’s recent stock struggles and urging asset managers to reassess investments in the EV maker.

Weingarten pointed to Tesla’s stock price dropping to as low as $290.80 from a high of $489, as well as the company’s market capitalization falling below $1 trillion. She argued that Tesla’s latest financial disclosures should raise red flags, citing missed profit margin expectations and rising cost pressures.

In short, the left is doing everything they can to punish Musk for siding with Donald Trump and for DOGE. If the right was pushing for political activity and arson and vandalism were taking place, you can bet the media would be all over it pointing out how rhetoric was coinciding with violence. But I'm not seeing much connecting of the dots in this case. No one is calling for a national conversation or asking Dems to tone down their rhetoric. The connection doesn't even seem to occur to them when Democrats are involved.

In any case, peaceful protests are one thing but using arson to make a political statement ought to be treated as domestic terrorism.
