What can you say about Rep. Hank Johnson? He’s famously the guy who worried that the island of Guam could become overpopulated and then tip over and “capsize.” Today, Rep. Johnson offered his thoughts on the discovery of classified documents in Joe Biden’s office and later his garage. After saying he wanted more investigation, Johnson added, “I’m suspicious of the timing of it.” He continued, “I’m also aware of the fact that things can be planted on people. Places and things can be planted. Things can be planted in places and then discovered conveniently. That may be what has occurred here.” Here’s the video:

He suggests they might have been "planted" there to take Biden down

Again, picking on Rep. Johnson doesn’t quite feel fair but he wasn’t alone in questioning the timing. On the View, both Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin seemed to be wondering along the same lines.
“I’ve never seen a luckier person than Donald Trump,” Joy Behar said. “Just as we’re this close to getting him, somehow these documents appear,” she said. She’s not saying it’s aliens but…it’s aliens.
Whoopi Goldberg argued it was inexplicable that no one had noticed the documents had been missing for several years. “In my house, if stuff is missing I know it’s missing,” she said.
Maybe this felt a little bit too accusatory toward Joe Biden or the Obama White House because that’s when Sunny Hostin jumped in with another possibility. “Does it feel like oppo-research to you? Does it feel like the Republicans are behind it?”
“It did originally but not now,” Goldberg replied. So if you’re keeping track that’s three hosts of the View who seem to have wondered if this was all a Republican dirty trick.
Here’s the clip cued up to Joy Behar’s statement.
It’s not just a few folks floating this idea. If you do a search for “planted” on Twitter you’ll see a lot of small-time accounts suggesting the same thing. The irony here is that this is exactly what happened when the classified documents were found at Mar-a-Lago except in that case it was Trump himself suggesting they could have been planted.
In a post on Wednesday morning on his social media app, Truth Social, Mr. Trump said that the agents who showed up at Mar-a-Lago would not let anyone, including his lawyers, observe their work, which was authorized by a federal magistrate judge…
“Everyone was asked to leave the premises, they wanted to be alone,” he wrote, “without any witnesses to see what they were doing, taking or, hopefully not, ‘planting.’”
Of course there was no evidence of that either. So you’d think folks on the left would be a little more self-aware about this given that they were just mocking Trump for saying essentially the same things four months ago.
Finally, while we’re talking about the View and classified documents. Let’s not forget the segment where they had Hillary on to talk about just how serious this all was. Here she is setting the scene for how Top Secret documents were handled when she was Secretary of State. “It’s not like an overdue library book,” Sunny Hostin said at the time and Hillary agreed. Jump forward just four months and those same types of Top Secret/SCI documents were found in Biden’s office but no one at the View seems to think it’s as big a deal anymore.
