Chris Cuomo wanted to attack 'Fox weather b**ch' Janice Dean for criticizing his brother

This is one of those stories that’s just too good to check. The NY Post reports that in addition to trying to gather info on his brother’s accusers, former CNN host Chris Cuomo was also looking to undercut Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean, a constant critic of the governor since last summer.

According to a source, canned CNN anchor Chris wanted to fight to defend his brother and texted with Andrew’s staff about how to discredit Dean.

The source said Chris allegedly asked in a text to an Andrew Cuomo staffer how he could go after “this Fox weather bitch……Any help painting her as a far right crazy?”

It is also believed he participated in calls with the governor’s staff, including Melissa DeRosa, about how to hit back at Dean by focusing on her political leanings.

CNBC has more on the story. Other top Cuomo staffers allegedly wanted to attack Dean.

Melissa DeRosa, who had served as secretary to the governor, was among the Cuomo aides who ripped Dean behind the scenes and sought to craft a public messaging strategy that would paint the Fox News personality as merely a right-wing commentator, people familiar with the effort told CNBC. Dean’s criticism of Cuomo stemmed mainly from the 2020 deaths of her husband’s parents, whom she said died of Covid in their elder-care facilities…

Chris Cuomo, who was a CNN anchor until he was fired last week, was encouraged to find information that would focus on Dean’s political leanings, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Dean’s anger with Cuomo began last year after the loss of her in-laws in New York nursing homes. In July of 2020 she wrote a scathing opinion piece for USAToday about it:

There have been a few reporters over the few months since my in-laws’ deaths who have dared to ask Cuomo why he signed the deadly order. But, the man who said, “I assume full responsibility” and “If you are upset by what we have done, be upset at me,” has never taken that responsibility.

Instead, he’s blamed everyone and everything else: God, Mother Nature, the New York Post, the president, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and nursing care workers, claiming “they brought in the infection.” He even at one point appeared to blame those who had died:

“Older people, vulnerable people are going to die from this virus. That is going to happen despite whatever you do. Because with all our progress as a society, we can’t keep everyone alive.”

The governor’s arrogance and failure to own up to his catastrophic decisions are finally catching up to him.

It took quite a lot longer before the truth really caught up with Gov. Cuomo and even longer after that before it caught up with his brother Chris. But in retrospect, Janice Dean was right and she was way ahead of the curve. She released a statement in response to the story:

As I have said from day one, this was never about politics. I watched first-hand how the governor’s office treated grieving families trying to get answers about the March 25th 2020 executive order to admit over 9,000 Covid positive patients into nursing homes. Instead of addressing our concerns or expressing their condolences, Cuomo’s spokesperson Rich Azzopardi called us a ‘death cult’ and told my sister in law to ‘get a life’ not long after both her parents died. Over the last year and a half I have seen victims of Andrew Cuomo and those demanding accountability demeaned and smeared in the press and on social media. In January of this year, Azzopardi was particularly misogynistic by responding to my inquiries and reporting as ‘not a credible source on anything except maybe the weather.’ So while I am not surprised to hear that the Cuomo’s administration alongside his brother Chris Cuomo were doing the same with me, I am glad these details are coming to light.

Honestly, knowing that both Cuomo brothers and the Governor’s other top aides were gunning for her is something she should wear as a badge of honor. They are gone and she is still here. Earlier this week she reacted to the firing of Chris Cuomo.
