Bill Clinton: Yes, this has happened to Hillary before

Yesterday when I saw the video of Hillary’s collapse, the first thing I said was ‘now I’m wondering if this has happened before.’ Today Bill Clinton answered that question in the affirmative, connecting prior publicized fainting incidents to the current one. Yahoo News’ Liz Goodman posted this transcript of Bill’s exchange with Charlie Rose Monday:

In 2012, Clinton fainted and gave herself a concussion. NBC News reported on December 15, 2012:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton fainted days ago and suffered a concussion after becoming dehydrated because of a stomach virus, the State Department said Saturday.

“She has been recovering at home and will continue to be monitored regularly by her doctors. At their recommendation, she will continue to work from home next week, staying in regular contact with Department and other officials,” the State Department said in a statement.

When Hillary returned to work she was given a football helmet with an official seal. The WSJ reported:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton returned to work Monday, and this photo provided by the State Department via the Associated Press shows Mrs. Clinton holding up a football helmet presented to her from colleagues. She was returning to work after a month-long absence caused first by a stomach virus, then a fall and a concussion and finally a brief hospitalization for a blood clot near her brain.

There was also a prior fainting incident in 2005. From CNN:

Clinton, 57, was speaking at the Saturn Club in Buffalo, said Erie County Democratic Chairman Len Lenihan, who greeted her upon her arrival.

“She said she was not feeling well, looked pale,” he said. “She told the crowd she was queasy.”

“She said she was going to sit and talk,” Lenihan said. At that, she took the microphone but then said she felt warm and left the room to remove the jacket of her black jumpsuit, he said.

Upon her return, at about 12:15 p.m., the senator fainted as her staff placed the microphone in front of her, Lenihan said.

Her Secret Service agents quickly surrounded the former first lady, and four people broke her fall, he said.

This really does sound similar to what happened Sunday, right down to the Secret Service breaking her fall. Of course there’s no telling if this is a complete list. One of these incidents happened in public and the other caused a concussion which made it necessary for her to be out of work. Were there other instances?
