Columbia Prof: I Would Never Send My Daughter to This School

If you have any sense of decency, humanity, or compassion, you should watch the video below if you have not seen it yet. This is particularly true if you are a parent and especially so if you have a child attending any American university at the moment or currently applying to one. The video is a speech given out on the green of Columbia, University in New York by Israeli-American professor Shai Davidai. He gathered together some of his students and began railing against Columbia President Minouche Shafik, who has remained silent in the face of pro-Hamas demonstrations on her campus by student groups that support Hamas. Davidai has two children himself, and he says that he would never send his daughter to Columbia or any of the other universities where their safety cannot be assured. He doesn’t even feel safe going to class to teach. And he condemns the silence of officials who refuse to speak out against those who support the murderous violence of terrorists. (NY Post)

An Israeli American professor at Columbia University’s business school slammed his employer in a fiery speech on campus Wednesday night — ripping the university for apparently not publicly denouncing pro-Palestinian student organizations he claimed are “pro-terror.”

Assistant professor Shai Davidai alleged that Columbia’s president, Minouche Shafik, has not spoken out against the student groups and said he would never allow his daughter to attend the Ivy League school in remarks he posted to YouTube titled “an open letter to every parent in America.”

Davidai shook with rage as he spoke at a campus vigil for the Israelis kidnapped by Hamas terrorists as he blasted liberal universities across the country for not “taking a stand” against the attacks.

Here is the video. He calls it “An Open Letter to Every Parent in America.”

There’s not really a lot more to say than what the professor said. Every parent really should see this video and consider what’s going on today on America’s college campuses. Is your child out there with a Palestinian flag, a swastika, or other related symbology? Are they chanting “gas the Jews” or similar hateful slogans? If so, how did that happen? That sort of thing doesn’t just appear out of nowhere. That type of hatred has roots someplace.

And for all of the students engaged in this horror show, I would ask related questions. Have you rallied against racism? Have you stood as an ally alongside gay, lesbian, or transgender students? Do you fear for their safety or your own? If so, how do you rationalize putting those of a different religious faith in the same situation? And I don’t even know what to say for the supposed “Jews for Palestinians” groups that keep showing up at public events this month. This is obviously only the tiniest minority of the Jews in this country, assuming all of them are actually Jewish and not just putting on an act.

We’ve tragically reached the point where “never again” is the here and now. It’s time to end this and silence in the name of “free speech” is unacceptable. Listen to professor Davidai carefully. He’s describing a nightmare that is unfolding in the waking world.
