David Weiss' "explanation" of Hunter Biden investigation confirms what we knew

The concerns raised by IRS whistleblowers regarding the years-long investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes (or lack of an investigation, actually) have been piling up now for weeks. Merrick Garland has been pushing back, of course, claiming that there’s nothing to see here so everyone should just accept the sweetheart deal the First Son is poised to receive and simply move along. Also accused of slow-walking the case is Delaware US Attorney David Weiss. But it turns out that Weiss recently penned a letter to the House Judiciary Committee in which he denied the allegations made by the whistleblowers and supported Garland’s assertion that he had “ultimate authority” over the investigation and handled it properly. But in the letter, he then turned around and confirmed nearly everything the whistleblowers said. (Amazingly, this was actually reported by CNN)

David Weiss, the US attorney in Delaware overseeing the criminal probe into Hunter Biden, has pushed back on claims that he had been unable to bring charges against President Joe Biden’s son in certain areas and reiterated that he had ultimate authority over the investigation, in a letter obtained by CNN…

“As the U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware, my charging authority is geographically limited to my home district. If venue for a case lies elsewhere, common Departmental practice is to contact the United States Attorney’s Office for the district in question and determine whether it wants to partner on the case. If not, I may request Special Attorney status from the Attorney General,” Weiss wrote to the House Judiciary Committee on Friday.

Weiss added that he had been assured he would have been granted that authority in “any other district where charges could be brought in this matter.”

Let’s first review the main complaints raised by the whistleblowers. They have said that the potential charges against Hunter Biden, including multiple felonies, were allowed to languish for years until many of them were past the statute of limitations. Among the remaining charges, cases needed to be pursued outside of Delaware, in both Washington and California, but Weiss was either unwilling or unable to bring them.

On the first count, there is no longer any question. Many of the most serious allegations involving huge sums of money the Bidens received from China and Ukraine were allowed to die on the vine. As far as the other venues go, Weiss is saying that he had “been assured” that he would have been granted the authority to pursue them. But he is simultaneously saying his authority was “geographically limited” to Delaware. So he either refused to pursue the required authority or he was denied. Neither is a good look for Team Weiss.

Weiss also admits that if he was denied cooperation in the other districts he had the ability to request Special Attorney status from the AG’s office. But no such status was granted to him (leading to the charges being ignored), so did he fail to ask or was he denied? None of these people’s stories match up while the whistleblowers have been consistent. And both Weiss and Garland have previously gone before Congress and testified about these matters under oath. Somebody is lying and they almost certainly did it during sworn testimony, which is also a felony.

Let’s not forget that the whistleblowers also said they were well aware that some of the money trails they were following would almost certainly lead upstream from Hunter Biden to “The Big Guy.” But they were told that any such investigations would not be “in their best career interests.” As such, any trails leading to Joe Biden were off-limits. And those limits apparently remain in place to this day.

But that may be coming to an end. The massive spiderweb of LLCs that the Biden’s set up with the obvious intent of laundering money and potentially avoiding taxes has become too much for even the normally docile and loyal mainstream media to ignore. The Bidens were clearly running an influence-peddling and money-laundering operation. But Joe Biden still believes he’s untouchable. If that turns out to be true, our Democracy is effectively undone and we will have been shown to be one of the most successful banana republics on the face of the planet.
