UN report calls for legalizing pedophilia

The United Nations has sent yet another disturbing signal that it is working to radically normalize societal movements that are far outside long-accepted cultural norms. A new report from a UN committee that ostensibly seeks to address issues involving drug abuse, HIV, and homelessness somehow included legal guidance on consensual sex. As part of that, the report indicates that children under the age of 18 can consent to sexual relations with adults. In other words, the UN is moving toward the legalization and legitimization of pedophilia. Pedophiles around the world will surely welcome this news, but at some point, the United States needs to recognize that the United Nations is no longer an organization that seeks the betterment of mankind and should not continue to host its headquarters in our country.

A disturbing new report from the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) adds to growing concerns about global leaders pushing to normalize pedophilia.

The report “The 8 March Principles for a Human Rights-Based Approach to Criminal Law Proscribing Conduct Associated with Sex, Reproduction, Drug Use, HIV, Homelessness and Poverty” on the UNAIDS website offers legal guidance on issues related to sex, including involving children under age 18.

Without any discussion about what the age of consent should be, the report suggests minors can consent to having sex with an adult.

The specific text in question states, “Sexual conduct involving persons below the domestically prescribed minimum age of consent to sex may be consensual in fact, if not in law.” The report goes on to declare that lawyers, judges and law enforcement officials should “consider the rights and capacity of persons under 18 years of age to make decisions about engaging in consensual sexual conduct.”

In the past, we’ve covered plenty of issues involving the age of “adulthood” and how it is incorporated into our laws. There are certainly valid questions to be addressed when minors engage in sexual activity with one another. But when you open up the conversation to the possibility of minors having the ability to consent to sex with an adult, a significant red line has been crossed.

It’s not difficult to see where this nauseating idea is coming from. This is an offshoot of the transgender movement currently sweeping across the globe. If children can legally be allowed to request or consent to irreversible, damaging surgery without parental consent, what else can they give consent for? The obvious answer would be “anything.” Shall we simply allow children of any age to start getting tattoos or drinking alcohol?

Even if a minor is the one initiating a proposed sexual liaison with an adult, it is still the adult’s responsibility to establish boundaries. And the question of who originally brought up the idea is far too murky for a court to delve into. Pedophiles have long been among the most reviled of criminals for very good reasons. The United Nations apparently wants to establish the idea of pedophilia as part of “the new normal.”

Whether we’re talking about anything from climate change to socialism, the United Nations has long been an institution that simply does not comport with traditional American or democratic ideals. The United States flushes far too much money into the UN and has long hosted its members right in New York City. How many more clues do we require before we either demand serious changes in the organization or simply eject them from our shores and tell the group to find a new host in Europe?
