I’m not sure what Hillary Clinton was expecting when she decided to do a campaign stop at Clark Atlanta University in Georgia on Friday, but if she has any competent people left on her staff they should have been ready for this. The former First Lady hadn’t gotten very far into her prepared remarks when a group of Black Lives Matter protesters carrying banners and singing songs filed out to the front of the crowd and essentially shut down her rally. Let’s go to the video.

As you can see in the video, Clinton made a valiant attempt to yell back to the protesters, saying that she was going to be addressing their concerns and how everyone could find common ground. As has been the case with every event where these people show up, they were having none of it. Their goal was obviously to make sure that theirs were the only voices to be heard and only their agenda would be discussed. (Yahoo News)

The former secretary of state was heckled by chants of “black lives matter” reportedly coming from around a dozen people, not long after launching into her speech in Atlanta, Georgia.

“Yes they do,” Clinton responded, rolling with the interruption. “And I’m going to talk a lot about that in a minute.”

The disruption continued as Clinton tried to shout over the protesters.

Members of the audience attempted to interrupt the demonstrators with chants of “Hillary! Hillary!” and “Let her talk!”

“I’m going to get to some important points that actually prove that black lives do matter and we have to take action together,” Clinton told the crowd.

Hillary was joined on stage by both John Lewis and the Mayor of Atlanta, but it was all to no avail. In the end, security had to force the protesters out of the venue before the rally could continue. This is nothing new for BLM when you look a their history. There is no room for any discussion or an exchange of ideas. It’s their way or the highway and they constantly seek to shut things down, whether it’s a scheduled event such as Hillary’s rally or the traffic on the highway nearby.

As Amy Miller explains at Legal Insurrection, this wasn’t the first time and it won’t be the last. And they should have seen it coming.

BLM activists aren’t just targeting Hillary Clinton. Back at the beginning of August, activists humiliated Bernie Sanders during a rally in Seattle:

A “plan” to reform the criminal justice system didn’t save Bernie, or Hillary, and it won’t save their fellow Democrats from more embarrassing spectacles like this one.

At least we can say that they’ve earned the pleasure.

We’re still not seeing these activities at major GOP rallies for the leading candidates to any great degree. Whether that’s because the protesters assume that there will be no productive discussion or because they assume that the security at a conservative event will have them out of doors promptly and rudely is a matter for debate. But there seems to be a default assumption among the Democrats that simply winning 92% of the black vote nationally simply isn’t good enough this year. They need to appease and agree with BLM in order to be “authentic” and show their commitment. Unfortunately for them they can expect the same thing to play out over and over again wherever these groups show up. If they don’t have a plan in place to deal with it, Hillary can expect more of the same in the months to come.
