Our guest on Politinerds this week is former congressman and MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, a perennial favorite here at Hot Air. (Oh, come on. You have to give me one crack at it…) We talk about Joe’s roots in Georgia, Mississippi, New York and Florida, as well as what it was like growing up with Joe’s dad in the church. We talk about how he initially won a seat in the House of Representatives from an historically Democrat dominated district running with essentially no money in a place where nobody had heard of him. It actually turns out to be some good advice for any of you younger folks who may be considering entering politics yourselves. Joe discusses his departure from politics (along with whether or not he may be returning) and his entry into the world of radio and television. We’ll also get to the bottom of the rumors that he’d like to be the Emperor of Mars.
Joe is an engaging guest and is refreshingly frank in his answers. Whether you love him or hate him, he’s never shy about his opinions. His last book, The Right Path, was a really great read, by the way. Load up the show and check out what he’s got to say.
